About the Opportunity :
We are a mission-driven HealthTech organization dedicated to bridging the gap in global healthcare equity. By harnessing the power of AI-driven clinical insights and real-world evidence, we help healthcare providers and pharmaceutical companies deliver precision medicine to underrepresented populations.
We are looking for a skilled Database Programmer with a strong blend of SQL expertise and Python automation skills to help us manage, transform, and unlock the value of complex clinical data. This is a fully remote role where your work will directly contribute to improving patient outcomes and making life‑saving treatments more affordable and accessible.
Key Responsibilities :
- Data Architecture & Management: Design, develop, and maintain robust relational databases to store large‑scale, longitudinal patient records and clinical data.
- Complex Querying: Write and optimize sophisticated SQL queries, stored procedures, and triggers to handle deep clinical datasets, ensuring high performance and data integrity.
- Python Automation: Develop Python scripts and ETL pipelines to automate data ingestion, cleaning, and transformation from diverse sources (EHRs, lab reports, and unstructured clinical notes).
- AI Support: Collaborate with Data Scientists to prepare datasets for AI‑based analytics, Knowledge Graphs, and predictive modeling.
- Data Standardization: Map and transform clinical data into standardized models (such as HL7, FHIR, or proprietary formats) to ensure interoperability across healthcare ecosystems.
- Security & Compliance: Implement and maintain rigorous data security protocols, ensuring all database activities comply with global healthcare regulations (e.g., HIPAA, GDPR).
Required Skills & Qualifications :
- Education: Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Statistics, or a related field.
- SQL Mastery: 4+ years of experience with relational databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL, or MS SQL Server). You should be comfortable with performance tuning and complex data modeling.
- Python Proficiency: Strong programming skills in Python, particularly for data manipulation (Pandas, NumPy) and database interaction (SQLAlchemy, Psycopg2).
- Healthcare Experience: Familiarity with healthcare data standards (HL7, FHIR) or experience working with Electronic Health Records (EHR) is highly preferred.
- ETL Expertise: Proven track record of building and managing end-to-end data pipelines for structured and unstructured data.
- Analytical Mindset: Ability to troubleshoot complex data issues and translate business requirements into efficient technical solutions.
