Job summary

Mydbops LLP is seeking a skilled MySQL DBA to manage critical databases for fast-growing teams in Bengaluru. You will troubleshoot availability and performance, optimize queries, and engage with customers to understand and fulfil their needs.

You will lead escalation, mentor junior staff, and document processes, while ensuring security and compliance. Prior experience with MDS MySQL and AWS basics is preferred.

• Experience with MySQL backup tools: mydumper, myloader, mariabackup.

• Experience with monitoring tools PMM, Prometheus, Grafana.
• Excellent written and spoken English.

Responsibilities

• Handle alerts in MDS MySQL and optimize complex SQL queries.
• Perform on-demand and scheduled query optimization for clients.
• Join client calls to discuss performance issues.
• Escalate to DBE-2 and DBREs as needed.
• Mentor and assist ADBEs.
• Document troubleshooting steps and processes.
• Manage client operations documentation for repeatable tasks.

Role Overview:

You will work in a fast-paced environment where we are responsible for the most critical systems. Our external teams ( Customers ) count on us to keep their MySQL database running and we are vital to the success of their business. You will troubleshoot and resolve customer issues related to the DB system's availability and performance. You will develop relationships with customers, comprehend and fulfil their needs, and maintain their satisfaction through regular communication and engagement with their environments.

Responsibility :

The major focus is on handling all the alerts in MDS MySQL.

Optimising the complex SQL Queries.

On-Demand Query Optimization.

Monthly Query optimization assigned ( based on customer list ).

Get into Client calls on Performance issues and other tasks.

Reaching the DBE-2 and DBRE's for escalations.

Assisting and mentoring the ADBEs.

Efficient troubleshooting using MySQL MDS Internal tools

Writing the technical and process documents.

Managing the client-based operations documents to ease scheduled & repeated tasks for the database engineering team.

Skills Required :

Strong understanding of MySQL architecture, storage engines (InnoDB, MyISAM), and replication (Binlog Based And GTID).

Good understanding of database security practices (users, roles, encryption, authentication mechanisms).

Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.

Experience with monitoring tools such as PMM (Percona Monitoring and Management), Prometheus, Grafana

Good to Have (Optional but Preferred):

Experience with AWS RDS/Aurora MySQL.
