Blutic is looking for a skilled Database Developer with 3 to 5 years of experience. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing database structures, developing database objects, and ensuring high standards of data quality. The role also involves leveraging automation techniques using scripting languages, preferably Python. The position is a full‑time onsite opportunity in Bangalore.

Experience: 3 to 5 years

Primary Responsibilities

• Translate business requirements into queries against relational tables and produce reporting.
• Proficient in SQL queries, joins, performance tuning, and complex queries.
• Create efficient and clean automation scripts (Python, Shell scripting, etc.) as part of the ETL process.

Required Skills

• Strong foundation in database systems and automation.
• Hands‑on experience writing efficient queries and performance optimizations, with a good understanding of database internals.
• Good analytical and problem‑solving skills, strong communication, and ability to think on their feet.
• Perform both automated and manual testing, including performance tuning and stress testing.
• Team‑oriented and capable of working within a global team.
• Comfortable expressing ideas in meetings and design sessions in a global, agile, collaborative environment. Expect to work with teams in Bangalore, Mumbai, London, and New York.
• Self‑sufficient with the ability to lead when given the opportunity.
• Able to work on multiple projects simultaneously.
• Prior experience in the financial domain is a plus.
• Strong sense of ownership and accountability for work.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.

Required Technical Skills

• Strong relational database skills, especially with DB2, Sybase, and/or Greenplum.
• Deep knowledge of relational database performance and tuning, including proper use of indices, database statistics/reorgs, and denormalization concepts.
• Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, Unix, and K-Shell.
• Ability to create high‑quality and optimized stored procedures and queries.
• Familiarity with the lifecycle of trades and data flows in investment banking operations.
• Experience in Agile development processes.
• Java knowledge is a big plus but not essential.
