Citi is seeking a Database Developer in Chennai to join our FX technology team. The role focuses on designing, developing, and maintaining Oracle and Sybase databases for high-availability FX applications. You will optimize SQL, write PL/SQL, and contribute to performance tuning and data modeling.

You will work with developers and analysts on ETL processes, data integration, and best practices, while supporting deployments and ensuring data integrity across environments.

Qualificações

• 4+ years of experience in database development.
• Strong hands-on experience with Oracle and Sybase databases.
• Experience supporting enterprise-scale applications and databases.
• Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and tools such as Jenkins, TeamCity, UDeploy, and SonarQube.
• Exposure to MongoDB or other NoSQL databases is an advantage.
• Knowledge of Design Patterns, Code Reviews, Coding Standards, and Unit Testing.
• Basic understanding of Data Modeling concepts.
• Experience with ETL processes and data integration tools is preferred.

• Design and maintain logical and physical data models.
• Ensure data integrity, consistency, and security across databases.
• Develop and support ETL processes and data integration solutions.
• Collaborate with application developers, business analysts, and other stakeholders.
• Participate in code reviews and promote database development best practices.
• Support production deployments and troubleshoot database-related issues.

• Technical Skills
  • Strong expertise in SQL and PL/SQL development.
  • Strong experience writing and optimizing complex SQL queries in Oracle.
  • Hands-on experience with Oracle SQL Developer and other database development tools.
  • Strong knowledge of:
    • Query Performance Tuning
    • Explain Plan and performance analysis tools
    • Indexes and Index Access Methods
    • Index Organized Tables (IOT)
    • Partitioning
    • Joins and Query Optimization
    • Stored Procedures, Functions, Packages, and Triggers
  • Basic understanding of Data Modeling concepts.
  • Experience with ETL processes and data integration tools is preferred.
  • Exposure to MongoDB or other NoSQL databases is an advantage.
