Job summary

Cubic Transportation Systems is hiring a senior Database Architect to design, implement, and optimize enterprise database solutions across Oracle, PostgreSQL, and NoSQL platforms. You will leverage AWS cloud services for high availability and security, lead migration and modernization efforts, and guide performance tuning and automation initiatives.

• 10–12+ years of experience in database design and development with Oracle and PostgreSQL expertise.
• Hands-on experience with AWS database services (RDS, Aurora, DynamoDB).
• Proficiency in NoSQL databases (MongoDB, DynamoDB).
• Strong knowledge of SQL, PL/SQL, and PostgreSQL procedural language.
• Experience with database migration tools and strategies.
• Familiarity with Liquibase or similar versioning tools.
• Scripting in Shell and Python for automation.
• Understanding of networking concepts, security best practices, and PCI DSS compliance.

Responsibilities

• Define and implement database architecture for transactional and analytical systems across Oracle, PostgreSQL, and NoSQL.
• Architect and deploy database solutions on AWS using RDS, Aurora, DynamoDB, and S3.
• Lead migration projects and modernization to cloud-native architectures.
• Perform query optimization, indexing, and caching for large-scale databases.
• Implement IaC for database provisioning using Terraform and CloudFormation.
• Ensure security, encryption, IAM roles, and compliance for sensitive data.
• Maintain architecture diagrams, migration plans, and operational procedures.
• Collaborate with application architects, DevOps, and stakeholders; mentor junior engineers.

Job Summary

The Database Architect is responsible for designing, implementing, and optimizing enterprise-grade database solutions across relational and NoSQL platforms. This role requires deep expertise in Oracle , PostgreSQL , and NoSQL databases , with strong experience in AWS cloud services for high availability, scalability, and security. The position involves leading database architecture strategy, migration projects, and performance tuning for mission-critical applications.

Key Responsibilities

Required Skills & Qualifications
