Job summary

National Institute for Smart Government (NISG) seeks a senior data architect/database specialist to lead design and governance of scalable data platforms. You will collaborate with product, development squads and customers to define use cases, standards, and reliable data stores.

Responsibilities

• Create and maintain scalable data architectures for the Innovation product suite.
• Research new database methods and technologies with customer and product teams.
• Lead data solution aspects, setting data standards and best practices for developers.
• Design high-availability data architectures with disaster recovery in mind.
• Plan capacity, data tiering, and data lifecycle management for stores.
• Develop automated deployment procedures for on-premises and cloud environments with QA.

Job Description

• l0+ years of database experience MySQL, Postgress SQL, MS-SQL, Hbase, Casandra, MongoDB etc.
• Knowledge on CEPH is mandatory
• Experience as a software developer or data architect or in a data management role
• Experience working with at least two, and expert-level knowledge of at least two database technologies like'Mysel,
• Postgres, MS sQL Server, vertica, Snowflake, Dynamoolg, MongoDB, DocumentDB, Map-R, Cassandra etc.
• Understanding of various relational and non-relational database technologies along with their benefits, downsides, and best usecase willingness and commitment to learn other database, automation, and Cloud technologies
• Proficiency in automation
• Experience working with the databases in public clouds, preferably AWS
• Strong analytical skills
• Ability to perform system monitoring and address various issues in the system
• Ability to do performance tuning and database development

Role & responsibilities

1. Creating and maintaining high pa stable data architectures for the onto Innovation product suite
2. Research new database methods and technologies to fully utilize platform feature s working with customer, development squads, and product management to identiff and document use case scenarios

5. Design data architectures and solutions that are highly available and meet disaster recovery requirements
6. Design effective data store solutions that account for effective capacity planning, datatiering, and data life-cycle management
7. Design automated deployment procedures for on-premises and cloud work with QA to create detailed test plans and needed tooling to account targeted performance for production volume data
