Design, build, and operate AI native, high performance SAP HANA platforms by combining deep SAP HANA technical architecture expertise with agentic AI patterns (LLMs + tools + retrieval + evaluation). This role focuses on architecting scalable, resilient, and intelligent HANA landscapes that support transactional, analytical, and AI enabled workloads—while embedding predictive operations, automated tuning, and self healing capabilities into the core database and platform layer.
Design end to end SAP HANA system architectures across single node, scale up, and scale out deployments.
Define landscape strategies for development, quality, and production environments, including high availability and disaster recovery.
Architect HANA platforms to support mixed workloads (OLTP, analytics, integration, AI consumption) with clear isolation and governance.
Design and continuously optimize HANA memory, CPU, storage, and network configurations for enterprise scale performance.
Apply data tiering, partitioning, and workload management strategies to balance cost and performance.
Lead capacity planning and growth forecasting to ensure future ready landscapes.
Architect HA/DR strategies aligned to business RTO/RPO requirements.
Design failover, replication, backup, and recovery patterns that are automated, tested, and observable.
Ensure resilience across infrastructure, database, and application layers.
Design secure HANA architectures covering encryption, authentication, authorization, auditing, and network isolation.
Enforce compliance and regulatory requirements through platform level controls and traceability.
Define standards and guardrails for HANA usage across application and integration teams.
Build database operations agents that analyze HANA telemetry (performance metrics, logs, alerts, query plans) to:
Implement retrieval grounded assistance using architecture standards, historical incidents, tuning guides, and configuration baselines to ensure AI outputs are accurate and auditable.
Enable conversational diagnostics for architects and operators (e.g., why did latency spike , what changed since last release ).
Define data modeling and access patterns that maximize HANA pushdown and minimize data movement.
Guide application and ABAP teams on efficient CDS, SQL, and calculation view usage from an architectural perspective.
Establish platform level performance benchmarks and optimization playbooks.
Define observability standards for HANA platforms: metrics, traces, alerts, and capacity dashboards.
Establish evaluation loops for AI behaviors in platform operations (false positives, recommendation accuracy, MTTR improvement).
Continuously refine automation, AI prompts, and tooling based on real production outcomes.
Support platform modernization initiatives including cloud adoption, hybrid architectures, and landscape consolidation.
