Job summary

Mobikwik, Gurgaon (India), is seeking a database-focused professional to ensure the performance, security, and availability of its database systems. You will work with MySQL, MongoDB, and PostgreSQL, contributing to backup, recovery, and capacity planning.

The role requires 1–4 years of experience, AWS exposure, and scripting for automation. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to support application development and data integrity in a fast-paced fintech environment.

Qualifications

• 1–4 years of experience in database administration or related roles.
• Hands-on experience with MySQL, MongoDB, PostgreSQL; knowledge of Cassandra is a plus.
• Experience with backups, disaster recovery, and data security best practices.
• Proficient in writing efficient SQL/MongoDB queries and performance tuning.

Responsibilities

• Ensure performance, security, and availability of databases (MySQL/MongoDB; PostgreSQL/Cassandra preferred).
• Manage upgrades, backups, and provisioning of database instances.
• Profile server resource usage and optimize as needed.
• Automate monitoring and maintenance tasks.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support application development and ensure data integrity and security.
• Experience in backup/recovery strategies, DR planning, and testing.

Responsibilities:

• Ensure Performance, Security, and Availability of databases - Must Have (MySQL / MongoDB) Pref - PostgreSQL & Cassandra.
• Ensure the orchestrating upgrades, backups, and provisioning of database instances
• Profile server resource usage, optimize and tweak as necessary
• Perform configuration management, automate monitoring and altering
• Actively contribute ideas and efforts to database system reliability and availability
• You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to support application development and ensure data integrity and security
• Strong in MySQL, MongoDB, and PostgreSQL management with hands-on experience in upgrades, storage engines, and query optimization. Skilled in writing efficient SQL/MongoDB queries, resource planning, and capacity provisioning.
• Experienced in backup/recovery strategies, disaster recovery planning, and regular testing.
• Proficient in automation and scripting for monitoring and maintenance.
• Knowledgeable in cloud infrastructure, OS/database hardening, and managing large-scale production systems.
