Job summary

Tech Mahindra is seeking a data testing specialist to own end-to-end data validation across ETL/ELT pipelines for a Data Warehouse product. You will perform data profiling, conversions, migrations, and report testing, ensuring data quality and integrity across multiple sources including Oracle and SQL Server.

You will work with Azure cloud tools (ADF, PySpark, Databricks notebooks) and mentor the team on best practices in data testing and automation within an Agile environment.

Qualifications

• A bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related information technology field from an accredited institution or equivalent work experience
• 6+ years of software product development and delivery experience.
• 5+ years of ETL testing/SQL experience.
• 3+ years of Informatica Power Center, IDQ experience.
• 3+ years’ experience overseeing the development of data test plans, test scenarios, test cases, execution of test case and documentation of test results
• 2+ years of Azure Cloud tools: ADF, PySpark, Databricks notebooks
• Experience with Python and libraries like Pandas, Numpy & Matplotlib.
• Ability to interpret and draw System & Architecture diagrams.
• Experience in summarizing large number of metrics into meaningful graphs and reports.
• Familiar with Latest Cloud Technologies.

Responsibilities

• Develop and support the complete life cycle of our Data Warehouse product including analysis, planning, design test cases, execution and ETL/ELT support.
• Perform data testing, data conversion, migration, transformations, profiling, analysis and quality validation.
• Test ETL mappings loading data from Oracle, SQL Server, and flat files into target tables.

Job description

• Develop and support the complete life cycle of our Data Warehouse product which includes requirement analysis, Test Estimation, Test Planning, design test cases, traceability matrix, execution of test cases and support of Extract, Transform, Load (ETL/ELT) processes and environments.
• Experience in Data Testing, Data Conversion, Data Migration, Data Transformations, Data Profiling, Data Analysis and Data Quality Validation
• Experience in testing of ETL Mappings to extract data from multiple sources like Oracle, SQL Server, Flat files etc. into target tables using transformations like Expressions, Lookups, Source Qualifiers, Aggregators, Filters, and Joiners etc.
• Hands on experience in design and implementation of E2E Data testing strategies and developing data testing automation frameworks.
• Work on End-to-End product feature testing and Business Report Testing. Designing, testing, and troubleshooting data and reports.
• Knowledge of any of database systems like SQL Server, Oracle or db2 etc and experience writing complex queries and creating stored procedures
• Good understanding or knowledge in Azure Cloud, ADF.
• Good exposure to Python, Pyspark, Databricks notebook.
• Interact with project teams, development, operations, and infrastructure resources to recommend solutions to remediate data issues.
• Experience in defect life cycle management - logging, replication, triaging, verification, closing, metrics reporting, etc.
• Demonstrated ability to acquire high volumes of test data required to support Test execution.
• Experience handling multiple programs simultaneously and work under offshore and Onsite model
• Good understanding of Agile methodology.
• Mentor and groom team members on product/application features/functionality and domain.
• Working knowledge of test management tools like HP ALM/ Jira/ Qmetry
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
