Job summary

Amazon Development Centre India Private Limited is seeking a Data Scientist to build analytics, AI/ML products and research models that optimize operation processes for ROW. You will work with Product Managers, Data Engineers, Data Scientists, Research Scientists and BI Engineers to deliver high quality data and insights.

The role focuses on creating data infrastructure for advanced analytics and ML solutions, collaborating across teams to scale models, automate insights and drive data-driven

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of data scientist experience.
  • 3+ years of data querying languages (SQL) or scripting languages (Python) or statistical software (R/SAS/Matlab).
  • 3+ years of ML/statistical modeling and data analysis experience.
  • 1+ years guiding and coaching a group of researchers.
  • 1+ years working with or evaluating AI systems.
  • 1+ years creating or contributing to mathematical content or education material.
  • Master's degree in STEM or equivalent experience.

Responsibilities

  • AI Agent development for data analytics.
  • Analyze data with statistical and ML techniques.
  • Develop analysis/model in Python, R or similar; use SAS/Matlab where needed.
  • Develop science-based Supply Chain solutions.
  • Document analysis/model methodologies and results.
  • Learn state-of-the-art ML techniques and tools; understand Amazon Supply Chain operations.

The AOP (Analytics Operations and Programs) team is responsible for creating core analytics, insight generation and science capabilities for ROW Ops. We develop scalable analytics applications, AI/ML products and research models to optimize operation processes. You will work with Product Managers, Data Engineers, Data Scientists, Research Scientists, Applied Scientists and Business Intelligence Engineers using rigorous quantitative approaches to ensure high quality data/science products for our customers around the world. As a Data Scientist, you will play a crucial role in supporting the team by creating and maintaining the data infrastructure necessary for the advanced analytics and machine learning solutions.

The AOP (Analytics Operations and Programs) team is responsible for creating core analytics, insight generation and science capabilities for ROW Ops. We develop scalable analytics applications, AI/ML products and research models to optimize operation processes. You will work with Product Managers, Data Engineers, Data Scientists, Research Scientists, Applied Scientists and Business Intelligence Engineers using rigorous quantitative approaches to ensure high quality data/science products for our customers around the world. As a Data Scientist, you will play a crucial role in supporting the team by creating and maintaining the data infrastructure necessary for the advanced analytics and machine learning solutions.

Our Team Solves a Broad Range Of Problems That Can Be Scaled Across ROW (Rest Of The World Including Countries Like India, Australia, Singapore, MENA And LATAM). Here Is a Glimpse Of The Problems That This Team Deals With On a Regular Basis

  • Using live package and truck signals to adjust truck capacities in real-time
  • HOTW models for Last Mile Channel Allocation
  • Using LLMs to automate analytical processes and insight generation
  • Ops research to optimize middle mile truck routes
  • Working with global partner science teams to affect Reinforcement Learning based pricing models and estimating Shipments Per Route for $MM savings
  • Deep Learning models to synthesize attributes of addresses
  • Abuse detection models to reduce network losses
Key job responsibilities
  • AI Agent development for data analytics.
  • Analyze data with statistical and ML techniques.
  • Develop analysis/model in scripting languages (e.g. Python, R) and statistical/mathematical software (e.g. SAS, Matlab, etc.).
  • Develop science-based Supply Chain solutions.
  • Analysis/model documentation.
  • Learn and understand state-of-the-art statistical and ML techniques/tools.
  • Learn and understand Amazon Supply Chain operations.
Basic Qualifications
  • 2+ years of data scientist experience
  • 3+ years of data querying languages (e.g. SQL), scripting languages (e.g. Python) or statistical/mathematical software (e.g. R, SAS, Matlab, etc.) experience
  • 3+ years of machine learning/statistical modeling data analysis tools and techniques, and parameters that affect their performance experience
  • 1+ years of guiding and coaching a group of researchers experience
  • 1+ years of working with or evaluating AI systems experience
  • 1+ years of creating or contributing to mathematical textbooks, research papers, or educational content experience
  • Master's degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM), or experience working in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM)
  • Experience applying theoretical models in an applied environment
  • Experience developing AI Agents
Preferred Qualifications
  • Ph.D. in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM)
  • Experience in a ML or data scientist role with a large technology company
  • Experience in defining and creating benchmarks for assessing GenAI model performance
  • Experience working on multi-team, cross-disciplinary projects
  • Experience applying quantitative analysis to solve business problems and making data-driven business decisions
  • Experience with AWS services including S3, Redshift, Sagemaker, EMR, Kinesis, Lambda, and EC2
