Job summary

Simreka Softwares (P) Ltd in Bengaluru is seeking a Data Science and NLP Intern to join a dynamic team. You will work on data analysis, NLP model development, and dataset curation under guidance from experienced data scientists and engineers across international teams.

Qualifications

• Pursuing or recently graduated in CS/Data Science/Computational Linguistics/Statistics.
• Strong Python programming skills and experience with data science libraries.
• Knowledge of ML techniques and NLP tools and frameworks (NLTK, spaCy, GPT, BERT).
• Experience with prompt engineering, RAG, and fine-tuning in Generative AI is a plus.
• Ability to understand legacy code and document contributions.
• Hands-on with databases and data visualization tools.
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
• Fluent in English; German a plus but not required.

Internship Description: We are seeking a Data Science and NLP Intern to join our dynamic team. This role is perfect for students or recent graduates passionate about data science and eager to apply their skills in natural language processing to real-world problems. You will work closely with our international team of data scientists and engineers to develop models that interpret and analyze complex data sets and text-based data.

Responsibilities:

• Assist in designing and implementing models for data analysis, pattern recognition, and predictive modeling
• Contribute to the development of NLP systems for processing and analyzing large volumes of text data
• Data processing, analysis, and verification for different projects of the company. Presentation of results.
• Work with the Data Science team in curating training-ready custom datasets, and fine-tuning of the stateof-the-art Generative AI models.
• Engage in the continuous improvement of data science and NLP techniques in the companys projects
• Perform ad-hoc analysis and present results in a clear manner
• Collaborate with the data science team to enhance data collection procedures to include information that is relevant for building analytic systems

Skills and Qualifications:

• Currently pursuing or recently graduated with a degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Computational Linguistics, Statistics or a related field
• Strong programming skills in Python and good hold on data science libraries (e.g., Pandas, NumPy, Scikit-learn)
• Understanding of machine learning techniques and algorithms. Knowledge of NLP and AI tools and frameworks (e.g., NLTK, spaCy, GPT, BERT).
• Experience of prompt engineering, RAG, and fine-tuning techniques in Generative AI would be an advantage.
• Good at understanding the legacy code and documenting individual contribution to the code
• Hands-on with databases and data visualization tools
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy
• Adept at queries, report writing, and presenting findings
• Fluent in English; proficiency in German is a plus but not necessary
