Job Goals
- Optimize existing yield and matching models to improve consistency, performance and forecasting accuracy.
- Analyze historical trading data to identify patterns and opportunities for enhanced consistency and efficiency.
- Develop actionable strategies based on statistical analyses and insights from historical datasets.
- Show how the current trading performance can be enhanced with more granular data, more graduated levers, and simple, low‑risk automated decisions.
- Collaborate with developers and commercial leaders to integrate data‑driven improvements into operational workflows.
- Present technical findings effectively to non‑technical stakeholders, ensuring clarity and actionable understanding.
- Own the end‑to‑end lifecycle of data science projects, from hypothesis generation to production deployment and ongoing continuous improvement.
- Drive innovation within yield optimisation in 24×7×365 production by applying advanced statistical techniques and programming expertise.
- Assist commercial stakeholders in scenario planning and forecasting.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the end‑to‑end data science projects for yield optimisation.
- Conduct statistical analysis and build predictive models.
- Translate complex statistical findings into actionable strategies and present them using PowerBI, SQL, and other tools.
- Collaborate with developers to produce scalable, cloud‑based solutions (AWS, Redshift, Azure).
- Maintain the production models and ensure continuous improvement.
- Engage with commercial stakeholders and provide data‑driven insights for scenario planning.
- Stay up‑to‑date with the latest industry approaches to forecasting and optimisation in discrete‑choice environments.
Ideal Skills & Capabilities
- Deep expertise in data‑science technologies, including statistical programming (Python, R) and data‑manipulation tools.
- Proven experience in yield or pricing optimisation within large online marketplaces or similar industries.
- Strong understanding of forecasting and optimisation techniques in discrete‑choice environments.
- Strong analytical problem‑solving skills and an iterative, agile product‑development mindset.
- Knowledge of web services and cloud platforms (AWS, Redshift, Azure) for scalable data operations.
- Ability to translate statistical results into actionable strategies and deliver impactful dashboards and reports using PowerBI and SQL.
- Excellent communication skills for presenting complex findings to non‑technical stakeholders.
