Job summary

PayU India invites applications for Manager - Data Science in its Bangalore/Gurgaon/Mumbai offices. You will lead a team of data scientists to design, deploy and maintain ML solutions that impact fraud, risk and business growth.

You will work with stakeholders across product, engineering and business, shaping AI strategy, evaluating non-traditional data sources and ensuring high-quality deliverables with strong documentation and governance.

Qualifications

• A degree in Statistics, Engineering, Mathematics or other quantitative field.
• 5+ years work experience as a Data Scientist, preferably in fintech.
• Hands-on experience with ML/programming tools such as Python, R, and SQL.
• Proficiency in statistical techniques: Logistic Regression, CatBoost, XGBoost, SVM, Clustering, PCA.
• Experience with distributed computing frameworks such as Spark.
• Team management experience is a plus.
• Good business acumen with data-driven problem solving.
• Detail oriented with high-quality reports and analyses.
• Experience in presenting ideas and analyses to stakeholders.
• Curiosity and willingness to learn; strong collaboration skills.

Requirements to be successful in this role:
