Job summary

Blue Yonder Pvt Ltd in India seeks a Data Science Consultant to onboard clients to the Luminate Planning suite and provide ongoing Applied Data Science support. You will collaborate with a global team and mentor junior members, applying ML and analytics to solve forecasting and optimization challenges.

The role requires 1.5–3 years of relevant experience, a CS/Data Science degree, and strong programming in Python with ML libraries.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science with a focus on Data Science.
• Solid understanding of machine learning algorithms (e.g., Linear Regression, K-Means, Naive Bayes).
• Proficiency in Python, NumPy, Pandas, Matplotlib, Seaborn (expertise in at least two).
• Experience in LLM, NLP techniques and Neural networks.
• Experience in supply chain concepts and statistical analysis.
• Knowledge of operations research concepts (integer/linear/stochastic programming).
• Strong critical and operational thinking; excellent communication.
• Familiarity with data visualization tools (Streamlit, Power BI).
• Proficiency in SQL/Snowflake, or Python-based SQL wrappers.
• Applied statistics foundations (distributions, hypothesis testing, regression).
• Bonus: Dask/parallel processing, Airflow, API integration.

Data Science Consultant 1 - Machine Learning/ Data Science Overview

Position Scope

As a Data Science Consultant, you will be a key player in onboarding clients onto Blue Yonder’s Luminate Planning suite of solutions and providing ongoing support through our Applied Data Science offering. Our team currently consists of approximately 30 associates in India, part of a larger global team spanning the US and Germany, and is poised for rapid growth. Strong communication and leadership abilities are essential, as you will mentor junior team members.

What You’ll do

• Select, build, and optimize classifiers using advanced machine learning techniques.
• Conduct data mining using cutting-edge methods and tools.
• Integrate third-party data sources to enhance the company’s datasets when necessary.
• Refine data collection procedures to ensure relevant data is available for analytic systems.
• Process, cleanse, and verify the integrity of data used for analysis.
• Perform ad-hoc analysis and present results clearly to stakeholders.
• Address customer concerns regarding forecasting issues and data quality, and write codes to perform forecasting checks.
• Building custom utilities using advance ML and AI techniques to solve business problems.

What We are Looking for

• Solid understanding of machine learning algorithms (e.g., Linear Regression, K‑Means Clustering, Naive Bayes).
• Proficiency in data science toolkits such as Python, NumPy, Pandas, Matplotlib, Seaborn (expertise in at least two is required).
• Experience in LLM, NLP techniques and Neural network.
• Experience in supply chain concepts and statistical analysis.
• Knowledge of operations research concepts, including integer, linear, and stochastic programming.
• Strong critical and operational thinking skills.
• Familiarity with data visualization tools such as Streamlit and Power BI.
• Proficiency in query languages such as SQL and Snowflake, or Python-based SQL wrappers.
• Solid grounding in applied statistics, including distributions, hypothesis testing, and regression analysis.
• Bonus skills: familiarity with Dask/parallel processing, Airflow orchestration tools, Postman/API integration.
• Strong scripting and programming capabilities.
• Data‑driven mindset with an eye for detail.

Educational Background

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science with a focus on Data Science.

Experience

1.5 to 3 years of relevant experience.
