Job summary

Zorba AI is seeking an experienced Data Modeler to design implementation-ready data models for our enterprise data platforms using Azure Databricks and Delta Lake.

You will work on conceptual, logical, and physical models aligned with the Medallion Architecture (Bronze/Silver/Gold) and collaborate with analysts, architects, and engineers to translate business needs into scalable schemas and transformations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS/IT/Engineering or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in data modeling and database design.
• Hands-on experience with Azure Databricks and Delta Lake.
• Strong understanding of Medallion Architecture.
• Experience in Agile software development environments.

We are seeking an experienced Data Modeler with expertise in Azure Databricks and modern cloud data platforms. The ideal candidate should have strong experience in designing implementation-ready conceptual, logical, and physical data models within Azure Databricks (Delta Lake) using the Medallion Architecture (Bronze, Silver, Gold).

The candidate will work closely with Business Analysts, Solution Architects, and Data Engineers to translate business requirements into scalable, high-performance data models that are development-ready with clearly defined schemas, relationships, SQL definitions, and transformation logic.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop Conceptual, Logical, and Physical Data Models for enterprise data platforms.
• Build implementation-ready data models in Azure Databricks (Delta Lake) following Medallion Architecture (Bronze, Silver, Gold).
• Design schemas across:
  • Bronze Layer
  • Silver Layer
  • Gold Layer
• Define:
  • Entities
  • Attributes
  • Relationships
  • Primary & Foreign Keys
  • Constraints
  • Data Types
• Create implementation-ready DDL SQL scripts for Data Engineering teams.
• Define transformation logic between Bronze, Silver, and Gold layers.
• Apply Delta Lake best practices for scalable and reliable data modeling.
• Develop and maintain:
  • ER Diagrams
  • Data Dictionary
  • Source-to-Target Mapping (STTM)
  • Metadata Documentation
• Apply advanced data modeling methodologies including:
  • Third Normal Form (3NF)
  • Star Schema
  • Snowflake Schema
  • Data Vault Modeling
• Collaborate with Business Analysts, Architects, Data Engineers, and Analytics teams to understand business requirements and convert them into scalable data models.
• Ensure data integrity, consistency, governance, and performance optimization.
• Support Data Engineering teams during implementation by providing clear, build-ready models.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in Data Modeling and Database Design.
• Hands-on experience with Azure Databricks and Delta Lake.
• Strong understanding of Medallion Architecture.
