Responsibilities

• Formulate and define systems scope and objectives for data domain implementation and foster communication between data domain leaders and technology
• Register critical data elements, authoritative data sources, and data lineage in coordination with the data domain and technology teams
• Support data quality validation and data issue remediation from root cause analysis through remediation planning
• Consult with users and clients to solve complex system issues through evaluation of business processes and industry standards
• Conduct feasibility studies, time and cost estimates, IT planning, risk analysis for new or revised applications
• Monitor and control all phases of development and provide user and operational support on applications
• Utilize knowledge of applications development to analyze problems and provide solutions
• Recommend security measures in post-implementation analysis of business usage
• Consult with users/clients and other technology groups on issues and install customer exposure systems
• Ensure procedures are followed and help define operating standards and processes
• Advise or coach junior analysts
• Assess risk in business decisions with focus on reputation and compliance with laws and regulations

Job description

Successful candidate will be responsible for participation in the establishment and implementation of data domains and data lineage by understanding and documenting application design in a concise, logical and understandable way in coordination with the Technology application teams. The role would focus on data governance implementation for a respective product and data domain, which includes registering critical data elements, authoritative data sources, data quality rules, and investigating any data quality issues The overall objective of this role is to contribute to continuous iterative exploration and investigation of attribute-level data lineage, critical data element decomposition, application performance and other measures to gain insight and drive data governance planning and data remediation. This role will support the Payment, Core Accounts and Liquidity business, knowledge and experience in that domain is desired.

Responsibilities:

• Formulate and define systems scope and objectives for data domain implementation and foster communication between data domain leaders and technology
• Register critical data elements, authoritative data sources, and data lineage in coordination with the data domain and technology application teams
• Support data quality validation and data issue remediation from root cause analysis through remediation planning and provide input to business and Technology based on analysis of information
• Consult with users and clients to solve complex system issues/problems through in-depth evaluation of business processes, systems and industry standards and recommends solutions
• Conduct tasks related to feasibility studies, time and cost estimates, IT planning, risk technology, applications development, model development, and establish and implement new or revised applications systems and programs to meet specific business needs or user areas
• Monitor and control all phases of development process and analysis, design, construction, testing, and implementation as well as provide user and operational support on applications to business users
• Utilize in-depth specialty knowledge of applications development to analyze complex problems/issues, provide evaluation of business process, system process, and industry standards, and make evaluative judgement
• Recommend and develop security measures in post implementation analysis of business usage to ensure successful system design and functionality
• Consult with users/clients and other technology groups on issues, recommend advanced programming solutions, and install and assist customer exposure systems
• Ensure essential procedures are followed and help define operating standards and processes
• Serve as advisor or coach to new or lower-level analysts
• Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.

Qualifications:

• 5 plus years of experience in data analysis with intermediate/advanced Microsoft Office Suite and SQL skills
• Desired Experience with Agile Software Development Lifecycle methodology and related tooling. For example -JIRA, Scrum, Kanban, Confluence.
• Experience with specific data governance tools: like Collibra or data catalogs.
• Knowledge of data warehousing and cloud technologies for managing and processing large data sets.
• Proven interpersonal, data analysis, diplomatic, management and prioritization skills
• Consistently demonstrate clear and concise written and verbal communication
• Demonstrated ability to work under pressure to meet tight deadlines and approach work methodically with attention to detail
• Experience in systems analysis and programming helpful. Preferred languages include: Python, Java, Spark, Data Lineage capture tools (i.e.: IBM Manta, Ab Initio mHub), or other development languages

Education:

Bachelor's degree/University degree or equivalent experience
