Job summary

The Cigna Group is building out its International Health Data Engineering team in Bengaluru. This role focuses on developing and maintaining ETL pipelines using SQL Server, T-SQL and SSIS to support data integration across policy administration systems and downstream consumers.

You will collaborate with agile teams, contribute to CI/CD releases, and help design data mappings while seeking performance improvements and reliable, scalable data infrastructure for global health benefits platforms.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years' experience in developing and supporting SQL Server ETL solutions.
• Expertise in T-SQL, including writing complex stored procedures, views and functions.
• Strong understanding of database concepts and experience with query optimization and performance tuning.
• Experience of developing ETL routines utilising SSIS.
• Have knowledge and experience of OLAP and OLTP environments.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and a flair for reverse engineering complex code
• Experience working with Agile development methodologies

The International Health Data Engineering team is located in the heart of the Global Health Benefits delivery group and is responsible for Cigna's data integration hub which consumes data from multiple sources including all the policy admin systems, and makes it available to numerous downstream consumers. The data engineering team is central in provisioning the data that supports a number of key initiatives, including all the web portals, and multiple integrations both internal and external.

As a member of this team, you will contribute to the development and maintenance of our existing systems, as well as establishing how our data-driven solutions are developed and coded. You will be encouraged to contribute your own ideas and expertise, as well as to keep your skills up to date through training and learning.

The position reports to the Data Engineering Technical Lead and you will have the opportunity to engage with multiple teams across a number of different technological disciplines and geographical locations.

Essential Skills

• Experience of developing ETL routines utilising SSIS
• Have knowledge and experience of OLAP and OLTP environments
• Excellent problem‑solving skills and a flair for reverse engineering complex code
• Experience working with Agile development methodologies

Highly Desirable

• Python, C#, VB.net or any other programming language
• Oracle and Postgres experience
• Databricks, Basic Cloud Experience (AWS/Azure)
• Git or other source control expertise
• Experience working in an Agile team utilizing SAFe
• Experience of continuous integration/delivery (CI/CD)
• Experience with AI driven code generation tools
