Job summary

Optum India is seeking an experienced Senior Data Engineer to design and build scalable data pipelines using Azure Databricks. You will leverage PySpark, Python, and SQL to transform data from diverse sources and optimize workloads within the Azure ecosystem.

The role requires 7+ years in IT and 6+ years in data engineering, with at least 3 years focused on Azure Databricks. You will work on end-to-end data solutions and AI-powered initiatives across a global scale.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience in IT industry and 6+ years of data engineering
• 3+ years of hands-on experience in Azure Databricks
• Proficiency in PySpark, Python and SQL for data processing in Databricks
• Solid expertise in the Azure ecosystem, including Azure Synapse, Azure SQL, ADLS, and Azure Functions

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and implement scalable data pipelines using Azure Databricks.
• Develop PySpark-based data transformations and integrate structured and unstructured data from various sources.
• Optimize Databricks clusters for performance, scalability, and cost-efficiency within the Azure ecosystem.
• Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve performance bottlenecks in Databricks workloads.
• Manage orchestration and scheduling of end to end data pipelines using tools like Apache Airflow, ADF scheduling, Logic Apps.
• Design, develop, and deploy AI-powered solutions using no-code, low-code, and advanced platforms to translate business needs into scalable applications.
• Comply with employment contracts, company policies, and directives, including potential relocations, team changes, or shifts.

Required Qualifications

• Undergraduate degree
• 7+ years of experience in IT industry and 6+ years of experience in data engineering with 3+ years of hands-on experience in Azure Databricks
