Job summary

State Street Corporation seeks a Senior Associate – Data Engineering Developer in Hyderabad to design and build AI-powered applications and scalable data pipelines. You will work on automation tooling, embracing Generative AI concepts, and contribute to enterprise reporting and analytics initiatives.

You will collaborate with senior engineers to implement secure AI solutions, optimize SQL queries, and develop reusable data-processing frameworks.

Qualifications

• 3–7 years of experience in software development, data engineering, reporting platforms, or related technical roles.
• Strong hands-on experience with Python development.
• Strong SQL skills with experience in Oracle or related database and query optimization.
• Experience building ETL/ELT pipelines and data integration solutions.
• Experience working with structured and unstructured data.
• Familiarity with Git, version control, and CI/CD practices.
• Strong debugging and troubleshooting capabilities.

Senior Associate – Data Engineering Developer

Key Responsibilities

• AI & Automation Development Design and develop AI-powered applications and automation solutions using Python. Build tools that improve developer productivity through code generation, documentation automation, testing assistance, and operational support. Develop and support Generative AI use cases using LLMs, prompt engineering, and enterprise AI platforms. Evaluate emerging AI tools and technologies and identify opportunities for practical adoption within AIS. Collaborate with senior engineers and architects to implement AI solutions securely and responsibly.
• Data Engineering & Reporting Solutions Design, develop, and maintain data pipelines supporting reporting and analytics platforms. Develop automated reporting and data-processing solutions using Python, SQL, and enterprise reporting technologies. Analyze and troubleshoot data quality, performance, and reporting issues. Support modernization initiatives involving reporting platforms, cloud migration, and analytics solutions. Create reusable frameworks and utilities that simplify report development and data processing activities.
• Application Development Develop scalable and maintainable applications using Python and modern development frameworks. Participate in code reviews and follow enterprise SDLC, security, and coding standards. Contribute to CI/CD automation, testing frameworks, and deployment processes. Produce technical documentation and implementation artifacts.
• Collaboration & Problem Solving Partner with business and technology teams to understand reporting and data-related challenges. Translate functional requirements into effective technical solutions. Participate in Agile ceremonies, sprint planning, and development activities. Support production implementations and resolve technical issues as needed. Continuously explore new technologies and recommend innovative solutions.

Education & Preferred Qualifications

• Technical Skills 3-7 years of experience in software development, data engineering, reporting platforms, or related technical roles. Strong hands-on experience with Python development. Strong SQL skills with experience in Oracle or related Database and query optimization. Experience building ETL/ELT pipelines and data integration solutions. Experience working with structured and unstructured data. Familiarity with Git, version control, and CI/CD practices. Strong debugging and troubleshooting capabilities.
• AI & GenAI Skills Working knowledge of Generative AI concepts, Large Language Models (LLMs), and AI-assisted development tools. Experience or exposure to tools such as GitHub Copilot, Microsoft Copilot, OpenAI, Azure AI Services, LangChain, or similar frameworks. Understanding of prompt engineering, RAG concepts, vector databases, or semantic search is preferred. Interest in building AI solutions that improve operational efficiency and developer productivity.
• Data & Reporting Skills Experience developing enterprise reporting and analytics solutions. Knowledge of data modeling, data warehousing, and reporting frameworks. Experience with reporting tools, dashboards, or business intelligence platforms is preferred. Ability to analyze large datasets and develop scalable solutions.
