Job summary

Kenexai in Gujarat is seeking a Data Engineer/ Database Developer/ Software Engineer to join our team, focusing on SQL, Python, and database development to build and optimize data pipelines and analytics solutions.

Qualifications

• 3–7 years of hands-on experience in SQL, database development, or a related technical role.
• Solid proficiency in SQL, including complex queries, joins, subqueries, CTEs and query optimization.
• Experience with databases such as Oracle, PostgreSQL, SQL Server, Teradata, or MySQL.
• Good understanding of database concepts, data modeling, and relational database architecture.
• Experience with data extraction, transformation, migration, or integration.

Responsibilities

• Develop, optimize, and maintain complex SQL queries, stored procedures, functions, and database objects.
• Work with relational and distributed databases to support data processing and analytics requirements.
• Develop Python scripts for data extraction, transformation, validation, and automation.
• Design and maintain data processing workflows and ETL/ELT pipelines.
• Perform data migration, data transformation, and data integration across different systems.
• Work with large datasets and optimize queries and data processing performance.
• Troubleshoot database, SQL, and data processing issues.
• Collaborate with Data Engineers, Developers, and other technical teams to deliver reliable data solutions.
• Ensure data quality, accuracy, and consistency across systems.
• Learn and implement modern data engineering tools and technologies as required.

Must-Have:

• 3–7 years of hands-on experience in SQL, database development, or a related technical role.

• Practical experience working with one or more databases such as Oracle, PostgreSQL, SQL Server, Teradata, MySQL, or other relational databases.
• Good understanding of database concepts, data modeling, and relational database architecture.
• Experience with data extraction, transformation, migration, or integration.
• Strong problem-solving and debugging skills.
• Willingness to transition into and grow within a Data Engineering role.
• Knowledge of ETL/ELT tools and data pipeline development.

Good to Have:

• Experience with Apache Spark / PySpark.
• Experience with Big Data technologies.
• Experience with any one cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Knowledge of Data Warehousing and dimensional modeling.
• Experience with Big Data technologies.
• Familiarity with Git and basic CI/CD practices.
