Job summary

FedEx Chennai is seeking a data engineer to support the development and maintenance of BI and analytics systems aligned with business requirements. You will design and optimize data warehouse architecture and enable self-service data exploration for users to analyze and visualize data independently.

The role includes building data models, implementing ETL processes, and developing reporting applications for stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Computer Science, MIS, Mathematics, Statistics, or similar discipline.
• Master's degree or PhD preferred.
• 2–5 years of data engineering experience depending on level.

Responsibilities

• Support development and maintenance of BI and analytics systems to support data-driven decision-making.
• Implement BI and analytics systems, ensuring alignment with business requirements.
• Design and optimize data warehouse architecture to support efficient storage and retrieval of large datasets.
• Enable self-service data exploration capabilities for users to analyze and visualize data independently.
• Develop reporting and analysis applications to generate insights from data for business stakeholders.
• Design and implement data models to organize and structure data for analytical purposes.
• Implement data security and federation strategies to ensure confidentiality and integrity of sensitive information.
• Optimize BI production processes and adopt best practices to enhance efficiency and reliability.
• Assist in training and support to users on BI tools and applications.
• Collaborate and maintain relationships with vendors and oversee project management activities to ensure timely and successful implementation of BI solutions.
