Data Engineer | Alteryx + Microsoft Fabric

Role Overview
We are looking for a Data Engineer with strong experience in Alteryx and Microsoft Fabric to support the migration of existing Alteryx workflows to Microsoft Fabric. The role involves understanding existing workflows, validating migration outputs, developing Fabric based data solutions, and working closely with technical and business stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyze existing Alteryx workflows to understand business logic, transformations, dependencies, inputs, outputs, and validation requirements.
- Migrate Alteryx workflows to Microsoft Fabric using services such as Data Pipelines, Dataflows Gen2, Spark Notebooks, OneLake, and Delta Parquet tables.
- Use AI assisted development tools such as Claude Code and Microsoft Copilot to accelerate development and migration activities.
- Review, validate, debug, optimize, and enhance AI generated code and migration artifacts before deployment.
- Perform data reconciliation and validation to ensure migrated solutions produce expected business results.
- Troubleshoot workflow failures, data discrepancies, and migration issues and identify appropriate corrective actions.
- Work with Business Systems Analysts, business users, and technical stakeholders to understand requirements and validate migrated outputs.
- Participate in requirement walkthroughs, solution reviews, testing, user validation, and deployment readiness activities.
- Follow Git based source control and development practices.
- Document migration logic, assumptions, dependencies, technical implementation details, and known issues.
- Contribute to reusable migration patterns and best practices for Alteryx to Microsoft Fabric migration.
- Participate in Agile ceremonies and maintain assigned work items and deliverables.
- Communicate technical concepts, validation results, risks, and issue resolutions clearly to both technical and non technical stakeholders.
Required Skills
- 3 to 5 years of experience in Data Engineering or a related role.
- Hands on experience with Alteryx.
- Hands on experience with Microsoft Fabric, particularly Data Pipelines, Dataflows Gen2, Spark Notebooks, OneLake, and Delta Tables / Delta Parquet.
- Strong Python programming skills.
- Strong SQL skills with experience in data extraction, transformation, validation, troubleshooting, and optimization.
- Good understanding of ETL / ELT, data quality, data validation, workflow orchestration, and lakehouse architecture.
- Good understanding of Git and source control practices.
- Experience with AI assisted development tools such as Claude Code, Microsoft Copilot, or similar tools.
- Ability to critically review, validate, troubleshoot, and optimize AI generated code.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to work independently in a fast paced project environment with defined migration timelines and deliverables.
Education
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Engineering, Analytics, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
Preferred Profile:
Candidates with hands on experience in Alteryx to Microsoft Fabric migration and strong Python and SQL skills will be preferred.
