Job summary

Nxtwave Disruptive Technologies in Hyderabad is seeking a Data Engineer to own migrations end to end, work on database migration, SQL, data transformation, validation, and AI-powered automation. You will collaborate with the founder on technical architecture and implementation.

Key responsibilities include extracting data from legacy databases, mapping schemas, building automated workflows, validating data quality, and writing SQL queries to verify migration accuracy.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of hands-on Data Engineering experience.
• Strong SQL and relational database fundamentals.
• Experience with production data migrations.

Responsibilities

• Extract data from legacy databases, old software systems, and raw data exports.
• Understand unfamiliar database schemas and map data to the new platform.
• Build automated workflows using AI agents for data extraction, transformation, and loading.
• Clean and validate data to identify missing, duplicate, or inconsistent records.
• Write SQL queries and reconciliation checks to verify migration accuracy.
• Execute multiple customer migrations every week.
• Build reusable workflows to make future migrations faster and more reliable.
• Work with the onboarding team to resolve data quality issues.

About the Role

You will work on database migration, SQL, data transformation, validation, and AI-powered automation. You will own migrations end to end and work directly with the founder on technical architecture and implementation.

Key Responsibilities

• Understand unfamiliar database schemas and map data to the new platform.
• Build automated workflows using AI agents for data extraction, transformation, and loading.
• Clean and validate data to identify missing, duplicate, or inconsistent records.

Mandatory Skills

• 3 - 5 years of hands-on experience in Data Engineering.
• Strong SQL and relational database fundamentals.
• Hands-on experience with PostgreSQL, MySQL, or SQL Server.
• Experience with production data migration projects.
• Knowledge of data extraction, transformation, loading, and validation.
• Ability to investigate unfamiliar databases and troubleshoot data issues.
• Practical experience using AI tools or agents to automate workflows.

Good to Have

• Python or any other programming language.
• Experience with legacy or on-premises databases.
• Knowledge of data reconciliation and data quality checks.
• Experience in healthcare, veterinary software, or practice management platforms.
