Job summary

NTT DATA, Inc. in Bangalore, Karnataka, India is seeking an experienced Data Engineer Advisor to design, build, and evolve data platforms and pipelines for enterprise analytics.

You will ensure scalable, automated, validated, and production-ready data ingestion, transformation, and modelling across work packages. The role requires strong SQL and Python skills, experience with Azure data services, data governance, and an Agile delivery background.

Qualifications

• Degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Data Engineering or equivalent experience.
• Strong SQL and Python programming skills.
• Experience building data pipelines and data platforms.
• Experience working in Agile delivery environments.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement scalable data pipelines, ingestion processes, and transformations.
• Develop and maintain data models to support analytics, reporting, and application features.
• Support integration with enterprise data platforms and evolving data architecture.
• Ensure alignment with data governance, security, and enterprise architecture standards.
• Collaborate with platform, full stack, and AI engineers to support end-to-end product delivery.
• Build and automate data pipelines to support regular refresh cycles and production workloads.
• Ensure data quality, validation, and integrity through robust testing and monitoring.
• Deliver data services, APIs, and models as part of product capabilities.
• Support migration and optimisation of existing data processes to scalable, enterprise-grade solutions.
• Embed QA practices into data engineering, ensuring all deliverables meet Definition of Done.
• Support data observability, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement of pipelines.

We are currently seeking a Data Engineer Advisor to join our team in Bangalore, Karnātaka (IN-KA), India (IN).

The Data Platform Engineer is responsible for designing, building, and evolving data platforms, pipelines, and models that support enterprise-grade applications and analytics use cases.

Aligned to an outcome-based delivery model, the role ensures data platforms are scalable, automated, validated, and production-ready, supporting reliable data ingestion, transformation, and modelling capabilities across work packages.

Skills:

• Strong experience in data engineering including ETL/ELT pipelines and data modelling.
• Experience with Azure data services (Azure SQL, Blob Storage, Fabric or equivalent).
• Proficiency in Python, SQL, and data processing frameworks.
• Understanding of data governance, validation, and versioning.
• Leverage AI-assisted tools to accelerate data pipeline development, transformation logic, and debugging.
• Use AI-assisted validation techniques to improve data quality and anomaly detection.
• Support adoption of AI-assisted engineering practices within data workflows.
• Ensure AI-generated outputs are validated, auditable, and aligned with governance controls.
• Continuously assess new AI capabilities to enhance data engineering productivity and quality.

Knowledge & Experience:

• Experience building and maintaining data pipelines and data platforms.
• Strong SQL and Python programming skills.
• Experience working in Agile delivery environments.
• Understanding of data modelling, governance, and validation.

Qualifications:

Degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Data Engineering or equivalent experience.
