Job summary

Würth IT India Pvt Ltd in Pune invites a Senior Data Engineer to shape our data architecture, design data products, and lead complex data integration across Databricks, SAP BDC, and Microsoft Fabric.

You will mentor and collaborate with global teams, own the data layer on the Databricks platform, and build PoCs and templates to drive scalable data solutions.

Qualifications

• 5–10 years of hands-on experience writing and optimizing complex SQL queries.
• 5–10 years of in-depth experience with database systems.
• Hands-on knowledge of the Databricks ecosystem, especially Delta Lake and Apache Spark.
• Proven experience in software development with languages such as C, C++, C#, Java, or Python with CI/CD pipelines.
• Strong focus on performance tuning, execution optimization, and cost management in large-scale data environments.

Job description

As a Senior Data Engineer, you will be at the heart of our data operations, taking on the most challenging and impactful projects. You will be instrumental in shaping our data architecture, designing innovative data products, and ensuring the stability and efficiency of our core data platform. This role requires a blend of deep technical expertise, strategic thinking, and a passion for mentoring.

Key Responsibilities

• Architectural Conception: Work with the Enterprise Data Architect to devise and conceptualize solutions for complex data integration tasks across Databricks, SAP BDC, and Microsoft Fabric.
• Data Product Design: Lead the design of corporate data products, transforming heterogeneous data assets from SAP, Microsoft, and other systems into reliable, scalable resources.
• Platform Ownership: Hold functional responsibility for the Data Layer of our central Databricks platform, ensuring optimal performance, governance, and evolution.
• Project Supervision: Oversee international data integration projects, providing technical guidance and ensuring alignment with global standardization goals and best practices.
• First-Hand Development: Build proof‑of‑concepts and templates on the Databricks platform, using agentic coding as part of daily work.

Required Qualifications

• SQL Mastery: Minimum 5–10 years of first‑hand experience writing and optimizing complex SQL queries.
• Database Expertise: 5–10 years of demonstrable, in‑depth experience with database systems.
• Big Data Proficiency: Hands‑on knowledge of the Databricks ecosystem, especially Delta Lake and Apache Spark.
• Development Background: Proven experience in software development with C, C++, C#, Java, or Python, and integrated CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions.
• Efficiency Focus: Strong awareness and practical approach to performance tuning, execution optimization, and cost management in large‑scale data environments.

Certifications (Highly Preferred)

• Databricks Certified Data Engineer Professional
• Databricks Certified Cloud Service Provider Specialist (e.g., AWS Certified Data Engineer, Azure Data Engineer Associate)
