Principal Financial Group is seeking a Data Engineer with AWS and Python expertise to build cloud-native data solutions in Pune, India. You will follow software engineering practices to deliver scalable and secure data pipelines and contribute to CI/CD improvements.

You will also craft technical docs, participate in code reviews, and support on-call/production tasks to ensure reliability and performance of data systems.

Competenze

• Bachelor's degree in engineering and 2+ years work experience or equivalent.
• AWS services expertise: S3, SQS, SNS, Lambda, Glue, RDS, DynamoDB, Redshift, Step Function.
• Proficient in Python (automation, Lambdas, scripts) and SQL.
• Experience with Copilot (GitHub/AWS Copilot CLI) is a plus.

What You'll Do

• As a Data Engineer, you will bring to bear your outstanding AWS Cloud skills and Python development experience to build and support scalable, secure applications. You will technically follow software engineering guidelines to ensure the delivery of high-quality, maintainable solutions. Your role will be pivotal in improving our AWS-based data pipelines and applications, working closely with senior engineers and tech leads to efficiently implement technical improvements.
• Your responsibilities will include crafting and maintaining technical documentation to support collaboration and communicating efficiently across teams to ensure perfect issue resolution. You will actively participate in code reviews, testing, and code deployment processes, contributing to the continuous improvement of our CI/CD workflows.

Handle On-Call & Production Support

• You will demonstrate a strong learning approach, chipping in to a culture of continuous improvement. Your ability to handle on-call and production support tasks will be crucial in maintaining the reliability and performance of our data pipe

Who You Are

• Bachelor's degree - Engineering (preference in a computer science, technology, engineering or math-related field) and 2+ years work experience or equivalent experience
  • AWS (S3, SQS, SNS, Lambda, Glue Job, RDS, DynamoDB, Redshift, Step Function)
  • Python (Automation, Lambdas, scripts) + SQL Skills
  • Copilot (GitHub / AWS Copilot CLI)
• Good to have: Informatica/ETL Data Skills
• Asset Management experience is preferred (not mandatory)
