Job summary

Koch Capabilities India is seeking a Data Engineer to join our Data Engineering team in Bengaluru. You will design, develop, and optimize scalable data platforms and pipelines to enable data-driven decision making across the organization.

You will collaborate with stakeholders, build reliable data systems using PostgreSQL, Elasticsearch, Snowflake, Spark, Java, and Python, and mentor peers while aligning with enterprise standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems, Data Science, Statistics, or a related field.
• 3+ years of experience in data engineering, BI, data modeling, ETL development, and data warehouse design.
• Experience managing multiple concurrent projects and communicating with stakeholders.
• Strong understanding of relational databases and query optimization.
• Proficiency in Java and/or Python.

Responsibilities

• Manage multiple projects simultaneously while coordinating with stakeholders and team members.
• Design, architect, and develop end-to-end relational and NoSQL database solutions based on business requirements.
• Evaluate and recommend appropriate technologies to deliver scalable data solutions.
• Build, optimize, and maintain data pipelines using PostgreSQL, Elasticsearch, Snowflake, Spark, Java, and Python.
• Collaborate with business users to translate requirements into system designs, data flows, data models, and technical solutions.
• Develop applications aligned with enterprise architecture, design standards, and engineering best practices.
• Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize database and data platform performance, reliability, and scalability.
• Automate operational processes and build monitoring tools to improve system efficiency and observability.
• Investigate and resolve technical issues through debugging and root cause analysis.
• Mentor team members and contribute to engineering standards, best practices, and technical frameworks.

What You Will Do

• Manage multiple projects simultaneously while balancing priorities and maintaining effective communication with stakeholders and team members.

Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems, Data Science, Statistics, or a related field.
• 3+ years of experience in data engineering, business intelligence, data modeling, ETL development, and data warehouse design.
• Experience managing multiple concurrent projects with competing priorities.
• Strong understanding of relational database concepts, database design, and query optimization techniques.
• Strong programming experience in Java and/or Python.
• Experience working with enterprise data platforms and large-scale data processing systems.
• Understanding of DevOps/DataOps practices and CI/CD tools such as Git, GitHub Actions, or GitLab CI.
• Experience building, operating, and supporting high-volume data systems.
• Experience analyzing large and complex datasets to identify and resolve data quality and performance issues.
• Ability to collaborate effectively across teams and communicate technical concepts to diverse stakeholders.
• Experience mentoring or supporting the development of other engineers.
  

What Will Put You Ahead

• Experience designing and implementing cloud-based data architectures and distributed data platforms.
• Experience with large-scale batch and streaming data processing solutions.
• Experience with Spring Framework, JPA, AOP, and REST-based application development.
• Experience designing and building RESTful APIs and services.
• Experience with machine learning libraries such as scikit-learn, Keras, or related analytical frameworks.
• Familiarity with functional programming concepts and modern software engineering practices.
• Experience working in Agile product and engineering environments.
