Position Objective (The purpose of role in current business/market scenario):

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Data Engineer to join our IT team. The successful candidate will be responsible for setting up a Microsoft Fabric environment and creating datasets using ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes. This role requires a strong understanding of data engineering principles, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.

  • Design, implement, and maintain a Microsoft Fabric environment to support data analytics initiatives. Including Building Power BI reports.
  • Develop and manage ETL processes to extract, transform, and load data from various sources into the data warehouse.
  • Create and maintain datasets that are optimised for performance and scalability.
  • Collaborate with analysts and other stakeholders to understand data requirements and deliver solutions that meet business needs.
  • Ensure data quality and integrity by implementing best practices for data governance and management.
  • Monitor and troubleshoot data pipelines to ensure seamless data flow and timely availability of data.
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Diploma of higher education or equivalent

Experience (exposure):

  • 6+ Years of related experience in Data Engineering or in a similar role.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Fabric (or similar system) and ETL processes.
  • Experience with cloud platforms such as Azure or AWS.
  • Understanding of machine learning concepts and techniques.

  • Stay up to date with the latest trends and technologies in data engineering and analytics.
  • Strict adherence to Policies and Procedures.
  • Proficiency in SQL and experience with data warehousing concepts.
  • Familiarity with data visualisation tools such as Power BI or Tableau.
