Zepto in Bengaluru is seeking a data engineer who can own end-to-end data pipelines and help scale our analytics stack.

You will work with Python, SQL, and cloud data services to transform, model, and load data into our warehouses, while collaborating with product and engineering to improve data-driven decisions.

Strong coding practices, PR reviews, and familiarity with Docker and modern data warehouses are valued.

Formación

• 2–5 years of professional data engineering or equivalent data-focused backend work.
• Strong Python skills with clean, typed, testable code.
• Solid SQL and data modelling; able to reason about complex queries.
• Experience building ETL/ELT pipelines and consuming REST APIs.
• Familiarity with cloud data infra (AWS S3), containers, and a modern data warehouse.

Requirements:

• 2-5 years of professional data engineering (or backend engineering with substantial data work).
• Strong Python — clean, typed, testable code; comfortable with pandas/polars or equivalent for transforms.
• Solid SQL and understanding of relational/columnar data modelling; able to write and reason about non-trivial queries.
• Experience building ETL/ELT pipelines and consuming REST APIs (auth, pagination, rate limits, retries).
• Familiarity with cloud data infra — AWS (S3 especially), containers/Docker, and a warehouse or OLAP store (ClickHouse, BigQuery, Snowflake, Redshift, or similar).
• Version control (Git) and working within a PR/code-review flow.
