Job Description
This position provides strategic, analytical, and technical support for data and business intelligence activities. It leverages data to gain key insight into business opportunities and presents these insights to business stakeholders. The role participates in the creation, distribution, and delivery of analytics reports, tables, graphs, and communication materials that summarize findings and support recommendations.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain reports and analytical tools; perform ongoing data quality monitoring and refinement.
- Identify and analyze errors or inconsistencies in data and provide timely resolutions.
- Translate data results into written reports, tables, graphs, and charts for management and clients.
- Create ad hoc reports and views to assist management in understanding, researching, and analyzing issues.
- Use data mining to extract information from data sets and identify correlations and patterns.
- Organize and transform information into comprehensible structures.
- Use data to predict trends in the customer base and consumer populations; perform statistical analysis of data.
- Identify and recommend new ways to support budgets by streamlining business processes.
Qualifications
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Proven ability to quickly learn new applications, processes, and procedures.
- Able and willing to collaborate in a team environment and exercise independent judgment.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to form good partner relationships across functions.
- Intermediate knowledge of SQL and tools that leverage SQL language.
- Demonstrated experience in writing software requirements and test specifications, and using data to drive business decisions.
- Bachelor’s degree, international equivalent, or at least 3 years of relevant UPS experience.
Preferences
- Bachelor's Degree (or internationally comparable degree) in Business/Economics, Computer Science, Engineering, Marketing, MIS, Mathematics, or related discipline.
- Experience with data warehousing, data science software, or similar analytics/business intelligence systems.
