Job summary

CriticalRiver Inc. seeks a senior Data Architect to lead enterprise data platforms, data engineering, cloud data solutions and analytics ecosystems. AI/ML and Generative AI will be secondary areas of expertise.

You will design and govern data architectures, modernize data platforms, and mentor teams while engaging with clients to drive pre-sales and solutioning.

Qualifications

• 15+ years in data engineering, data architecture, or cloud data capabilities.
• 4+ years in senior architecture roles.
• Strong hands-on Python and SQL.
• Snowflake and/or Databricks are mandatory/preferred core skills.
• Kafka, dbt, Airflow or equivalent tech.
• Data modeling, governance, security, quality and migration.
• Strong client-facing, consulting and architecture leadership experience.

Responsibilities

• Design and lead enterprise data architecture and platforms.
• Architect solutions using Snowflake and/or Databricks.
• Lead data engineering, ETL/ELT, ingestion, CDC, streaming and orchestration.
• Design scalable solutions using Python, SQL, Spark, Kafka, dbt and Airflow.
• Architect cloud data platforms across AWS, Azure or GCP.
• Drive data modernization, migration, governance, security, quality and lineage.
• Define data models, semantic layers and analytics architectures.
• Provide architecture governance, technical leadership, mentoring and client consulting.
• Support pre-sales, solutioning, RFPs, POCs and senior stakeholder discussions.
• Integrate AI/ML, GenAI, RAG into enterprise data platforms where required.

Role Overview

We are looking for a senior Data Architect to lead the design and technical direction of enterprise-scale data platforms, data engineering, cloud data solutions and analytics ecosystems. AI/ML and Generative AI will be secondary areas of expertise.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and lead enterprise data architecture, data platforms, lakehouses and data warehouses.
• Architect solutions using Snowflake and/or Databricks.
• Lead data engineering, ETL/ELT, ingestion, CDC, streaming and orchestration.
• Design scalable solutions using Python, SQL, Spark, Kafka, dbt and Airflow.
• Architect cloud data platforms across AWS, Azure or GCP.
• Drive data modernization, migration, governance, security, quality and lineage.
• Define data models, semantic layers and analytics architectures.
