The ideal candidate will have a strong educational background, particularly in Statistics or Remote Sensing, and will be responsible for testing and calibrating models, preparing client reports, and managing a team of junior analysts. Proficiency in programming languages like Python and statistical techniques is essential for this role.

Job description

• To Building models to address business problems.
• Develop crop yield and price forecasting models
• Develop pest and disease forecast models
• Use satellite-based indices, weather data, crop images, and other information to estimate crop health, pest
  and disease loads
• Testing and calibration of crop models to give more accurate yield estimates across different geographies
• Prepare reports capturing above models as per client requirements
• Handle a team of 3 Junior analysts who are working on above-given aspects.

Skills and Experience

• Strong analytical, modelling,communication, team and project management skills.
• Proficient in statistical techniques especially regression, variable analysis, parametric distribution fitting, and testing.
• Working knowledge of Excel and any higher programming language(Python,R, and Matlab).
• Familiarity with the applications of satellite imagery and remote sensing data.
• Detail-oriented, quick learner with very strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a high degree of self-motivation.
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to work independently and collaboratively with the team of colleagues across several teams and offices
• Ability to schedule and prioritize the project tasks; and assign the project tasks to the team member as per their skills and monitor

Educational Qualifications

• Bachelors or higher degree in Statistics/remote sensing.

Required Traits

• Working knowledge of Excel and higher programming language (Python, R or Matlab).
• Strong knowledge of stochastic, statistical and simulation models for crop modeling.
