Job summary

EXL Talent Acquisition Team is seeking a QA lead for Data & BI implementations in a on-site role in India. The candidate will oversee all QA activities for releases, develop test plans, and coordinate QA resources to ensure quality goals and industry best practices are met.

The role requires strong experience in functional testing, test automation, and data accuracy in SQL/SSIS, with excellent written communication to document bugs and test results.

Qualifications

• QA experience and willingness to work in Data & BI implementation environments.
• Exposure to SQL/SSIS and data quality concepts is a plus.
• Experience with test planning, execution, and defect tracking is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Oversee all QA aspects of releases and coordinate QA resources.
• Develop and execute manual and automated test scripts and procedures.
• Ensure data accuracy in SQL/SSIS and document testing results clearly.
• Perform functional testing, regression testing, and performance considerations.
• Collaborate with BI developers, ETL leads, and data warehouse architects on test scenarios.
• Create feedback on test cases, scripts, plans, and maintain dashboards for quality monitoring.

Job description

• Oversee all aspects of quality assurance including establishing and reporting on metrics, applying industry best practices and developing new tools and processes to ensure quality goals are met.
• Adhere to formal QA processes, ensuring that the Data & BI Implementation team is using Industry accepted best Practices.
• Ensure data accuracy in both SQL and SSIS. Detailed and effective written communication skills documenting the features tested and bugs found.
• Document necessity of performance optimization, identify the stale & error calculations.
• Act as key point of contact for all QA aspects of releases, providing test services and coordinating QA resources internally and externally in SQL.
• Create and Provide Feedback on test cases, scripts, plans and Procedures (manual and automated) responsible for executing them.
• The entire Data/BI solution development life cycle and test cycles (unit, Regression, Functional, Systems, stress& scale, smoke and sanity)
• Strong experience in functional testing and test automation.
• Process breakdown & testing the different scenarios at every step.
• Diagnose defects and track them from discovery to resolution.
• Ensure all testing work is carried out in accordance with the testing plan, Including schedule and quality requirement.
• Collaborates with data warehouse architect, the ETL lead and BI developers in the construction and execution of test scenarios including those applicable to the development, test and production data warehouse environment.
• Perform necessary BI UX testing, BI run, ETL runs, maintain quality monitoring dashboard/report etc.
