Job summary

Impelsys is seeking an experienced Data & AI Solution Architect (AWS) to design end-to-end cloud data platforms, governance, and cost optimization for global clients. You will lead architecture discussions, model design, and AI-assisted development in cross-functional offshore teams.

You will own non-functional design, support pre-sales, and collaborate with stakeholders across time zones to deliver scalable data solutions.

About Us

We are growing our Data & AI practice, which delivers cloud data platforms, data modernisation and migration, analytics and AI-enabled engineering for global enterprise clients. You will work in cross-functional teams on long-term engagements, using modern cloud technologies and AI-assisted engineering practices. Location: Offshore (India) • Full-time.

Role Summary

Designs cloud data and AI solutions end to end architecture, data models, governance and cost – and acts as the technical authority for clients and delivery teams.

6+ years designing data platforms on AWS; 3+ years with lakehouse / modern data stack

Roles & Responsibilities

• Define target architectures for data platforms, lakehouses and data products
• Design data models, data contracts and integration patterns
• Set data governance: catalog, lineage, access control, privacy and data quality
• Plan migration and modernisation approaches for legacy data platforms
• Own non-functional design: performance, security, resilience and cost (FinOps)
• Lead design reviews; guide engineering standards and AI-assisted development
• Support pre-sales: solution proposals, estimates and client presentations

Mandatory Skills

• AWS data services: S3, Glue, Athena, EMR, Redshift, Lake Formation, IAM
• Lakehouse and open table formats (Apache Iceberg, Delta or Hudi)
• Data modelling (dimensional, customer / event data, data vault)
• Data governance and privacy (GDPR, PII)
• Strong SQL; working knowledge of Python / Spark
• Architecture leadership with client stakeholders

Nice to Have

• Customer data platforms (CDP), identity resolution or MDM
• dbt, Apache Airflow
• GenAI / agentic solutions on Amazon Bedrock
• Azure or GCP data services
• TOGAF

Also Expected

Clear communication with remote client stakeholders across time zones; Comfortable using AI coding and productivity tools, and reviewing AI-generated work critically; Agile ways of working; ownership and accountability. Certifications: AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Professional (preferred).
