Job summary

General Mills is seeking a seasoned BI Analyst to design and deliver interactive dashboards and reports. You will partner with business stakeholders to translate requirements into data solutions, applying Tableau, Looker, and other tools to drive insights across the organization.

The role emphasizes collaboration, agile delivery in cross-functional pods, and a focus on data quality, governance, and scalable visualization practices. A bachelor’s degree and 4+ years experience are expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from accredited university (Full Time) in Business Analytics or related subject area.
• 4+ years total experience with 3+ years engaging with stakeholders and designing analytical solutions.
• Extensive experience creating interactive dashboards using Tableau (Intermediate) and other visualization tools (Looker, Business Objects, Advanced Excel, SQL).
• Good communication skills translating business requests into technical requirements and discussing tech options.
• Basic understanding of ETL, data governance, and data warehousing.
• Basic understanding of data extraction using Google Big Query, SQL Server, SAP BW or SAP HANA.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, maintain, and launch BI dashboards and reporting solutions using Tableau and Looker.
• Implement enterprise BI standards and best practices across the team.
• Collaborate with peers to promote data prep, connected data, and data cataloguing.
• Develop and apply standard processes and tools to ensure high‑quality deliverables.
• Work with stakeholders to define requirements, metrics, and insights representation.
• Research and source technical solutions via community collaboration.
• Follow Agile with sprints, user stories, and epics for dashboard delivery.
• Create dashboards architectures and prototypes in coordination with product teams.
• Participate in project phases from requirements to deployment and validation.
• Provide data-driven insights by applying domain knowledge and analytical thinking.
• Troubleshoot technical and performance issues in the big data ecosystem.
• Perform in-depth analysis to identify key data elements and metrics.

Key Accountabilities

• Design, develop, Maintain, and launch new Business Intelligence visualization & reporting solutions leveraging Tableau, Looker
• ImplemententerpriseBusiness Intelligence standards, best practices and approved BI techniques.
• Work alongside of peers and inculcate best practices (data prep tools, connected data approaches, data cataloguing etc. which can elevate the team’s ability to tackle business and technical challenges
• Develop, Maintain, and implement standard processes, tools/solutions to ensure best practices are followed in the deliverables.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to understand requirements and work alongside peers to identify best approach for data validation, metric definition & Insight representation.
• Ability to research and find technical solutions via technical community collaboration.
• Follow Agile approach with various work streams during design, development, and signoffs from stakeholders to roll out reimagined reporting solutions across the org..
• Need to know working with Sprints, User Stories, Tasks, Epics, Features in Agile
• Develop technical architectures and prototypes fordashboards, through coordination with product teams.
• Actively participate in various phases of the project including defining the core requirement, effort estimation, root-cause analysis, solutioning, development and deployment
• Apply thought leadership to deliver application of insights through absorbed domain/functional business acumen.
• Partner with technical teams to troubleshoot technical and performance issues in the big data ecosystem.
• Perform in-depth analysis to identify key business data elements & metrics to enable insights.

Strategy & Collaboration

• Translate business challenges into impactful dashboard designs and technical builds.
• Partner along with product team with business stakeholders to understand project requirements and lead BI engagement, execution & delivery.
• Detail-oriented, a strong communicator, incredibly curious, and technically capable with a desire to discover and deliver data-driven business insights to fuel our data-driven culture and help us make informed business decisions.
• Collaborate with teams across functions to set internal benchmarks, develop critical metrics for new initiatives, and recommend best practices.
• Coordinate triage efforts, resolve user issues and system improvements.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from accredited university (Full Time) in Business Analytics or a related subject area
• 4+ years of total experience with 3+ years of relevant experience working with business stakeholders and designing analytical solutions.
• Extensive experience in creating interactive dashboards using Tableau (Intermediate) and other visualization tools (Basic) – Looker, Business Objects, Advance Excel, SQL, etc.
• Good communication skills, capable of translating business requests into technical requirements and articulating the pros and cons of different technologies, platforms, design and architectural options.
• Basic understanding of data and analytics tools and concepts, including ETL, reporting tools, data governance, data warehousing.
• Basic understanding of data extraction using Google Big Query, SQL Server, SAP BW or SAP HANA
