Job summary

TP Information Systems Security team seeks a security professional to design, test and implement secure OS, network and database solutions. You will perform password auditing, vulnerability scanning, virus management and intrusion detection to protect IT assets and intellectual property.

With 1–2 years of practical experience and a related degree, you will work independently within established standards, share best practices, and help improve ongoing security processes.

• Typically requires 1–2 years of practical professional experience in information security.
• A professional/university degree in a related field is common.
• Ability to work independently within set frameworks and improve processes.

Responsibilities

Job description

Information Systems Security work focuses on preventing IT-based crime, hacking, intentional or inadvertent modification, disclosure, or destruction to an organization''s information systems and IT assets and intellectual property including:

• Designing, testing, and implementing secure operating systems, networks, and databases
• Password auditing, network based and Web application based vulnerability scanning, virus management, and intrusion detection
• Conducting risk audits and assessments, providing recommendations for application design
• Monitoring and analyzing system access logs
• Planning for security backup and system disaster recovery

Positions on this level are fully proficient in executing established standards. Works independently within set frames and follows set course. Has a knowledge base typically acquired from a professional/university degree and approximately 1-2 years of practical professional experience in a particular area. Develops own knowledge, shares best practice and develops relevant/appropriate solutions. Positions at this level are expected to continuously improve the day-to-day activities/processes.

Can be a formal team leader of more junior co-workers and may set day-to-day operational objectives.
