Qualifications

• Hands-on experience in vulnerability assessment, incident response, and risk management.

Responsibilities

• Monitor IT systems, networks, and infrastructure to identify security threats and suspicious activity.
• Analyse security logs and alerts to detect, investigate, and respond to threats.
• Implement and maintain security monitoring systems and network security controls.
• Identify emerging threats and recommend preventive measures.
• Conduct vulnerability assessments across systems, apps, and networks.
• Identify, assess, and mitigate cybersecurity risks and coordinate remediation.
• Investigate security incidents, perform root-cause analysis, and document findings.
• Support recovery and prevent recurrence with corrective actions.
• Implement and maintain firewalls, IDS/IPS, and other controls.

Key Responsibilities

1. Security Monitoring & Threat Detection

• Monitor IT systems, networks, and infrastructure to identify security threats and suspicious activities.
• Analyse security logs and alerts to detect, investigate, and respond to potential cyber threats.
• Implement and maintain security monitoring systems and network security controls.
• Identify emerging threats and recommend preventive measures.

2. Vulnerability Assessment & Risk Management

• Conduct vulnerability assessments across systems, applications, and networks.
• Identify, assess, and mitigate cybersecurity risks.
• Recommend and coordinate remediation activities to address security vulnerabilities.
• Ensure appropriate security configurations and access controls are maintained.

3. Incident Response & Investigation

• Investigate security incidents and perform root-cause analysis.
• Coordinate incident response activities and implement corrective measures.
• Document incidents, findings, and remediation actions.
• Support recovery efforts and recommend measures to prevent recurring incidents.

4. Network & Information Security

• Implement and maintain firewalls, intrusion detection and prevention systems (IDS/IPS), and other network security controls.
• Protect sensitive information through appropriate security measures.
• Develop, implement, and maintain cybersecurity policies, procedures, and best practices.
• Collaborate with IT teams to improve infrastructure and application security.

5. Compliance, Audits & Reporting

• Support security audits, risk assessments, and compliance-related activities.
• Ensure adherence to applicable information security standards and internal policies.
• Prepare security assessment reports, incident reports, and technical documentation.
• Stay updated on emerging cyber threats, vulnerabilities, and security technologies.

Required Qualifications & Skills

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, IT, Cybersecurity, Information Security, or a related field.
• Minimum 56 years of relevant experience in cybersecurity operations, network security, threat detection, and vulnerability assessment.
• Strong understanding of cybersecurity principles and information security practices.
• Hands-on experience in vulnerability assessment, incident response, and risk management.
• Knowledge of firewalls, IDS/IPS, network security controls, and security monitoring tools.
• Familiarity with Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) solutions.
• Knowledge of security policies, controls, and risk mitigation strategies.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
• Good communication, documentation, and reporting skills.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with SIEM tools such as Splunk, IBM QRadar, or Microsoft Sentinel.
• Knowledge of security frameworks and standards such as ISO 27001 and NIST.
• Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CEH, CompTIA Security+, or equivalent.
• Experience in security audits, incident investigation, and vulnerability remediation.
• Ability to work collaboratively with IT teams and stakeholders.
