Job summary

Sonoscan Healthcare in Kolkata is seeking a skilled Critical Care Technician with at least 3 years of ICU experience. You will set up and monitor ventilators and monitors, assist clinical staff during procedures, collect samples, and ensure strict infection control in a high-acuity environment.

Responsibilities include equipment maintenance, thorough documentation, and training staff on ICU devices. The role requires strong communication and quick emergency response in a busy hospital setting.

Qualifications

• Diploma in Critical Care required.
• Minimum 3 years of ICU/critical care technician experience.

Responsibilities

• Set up and monitor ventilators, cardiac monitors, infusion pumps, dialysis machines and other ICU equipment.
• Perform daily checks, calibration, troubleshooting and basic repairs of ICU/ITU equipment; report faults.
• Assist doctors and nurses during intubation, central line insertion, CPR and bedside procedures.
• Collect blood/gas samples and set up ABG machines for lab analysis.
• Sterilize equipment, manage disposables and follow aseptic ICU protocols.
• Maintain equipment logs, patient monitoring charts, stock registers and handover reports.
• Be on standby for code blue/rapid response; ensure crash cart and oxygen are ready.
• Train staff on how to use ventilators, pumps and monitors and communicate effectively with patients and staff.

Educational Qualification : Holding Diploma in Critical care under State Medical of Faculty of West Bengal.

Employment type : Full time

Required experience : Should have a minimum of 3 years working experience as a critical care technician in any reputed multispeciality hospital.

Roles & Responsibilities :

• Patient monitoring : Set up and monitor ventilators, cardiac monitors, infusion pumps, dialysis machines, and others critical equipment.
• Equipment maintenance : Do daily checks, calibration, troubleshooting, and basic repairs of ICU /ITU equipment. Report faults to biomedical engineering /authorized personnel.
• Assisting clinical team : Help doctors and nurses during intubation, central line insertion, CPR. bedside procedures.
• Specimen & sample handling : Collect blood/ gas samples, label, and send to lab Set up ABG machines.
