Job description

Job Responsibilities

General Responsibility

  • Works evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays according to the schedule compiled by the head of department.
  • Monitors clinical and other established indicators to ensure ongoing quality assurance.
  • Strictly adheres to organization's regulations and policies especially those related to infection control, patient safety and JCI.
  • Supports Continuous Quality Improvement and participates and contributes to all the quality assurance activities of the service.
  • Anticipates and contributes to scheduled in-service training programs like ACLS, BLS, CNEs, CMEs, In house activities, conferences or other programs as requested.
  • Exercises effective interpersonal skills in dealings with department staff, associates, and Management.
  • Maintains confidentiality as per the agreement signed.
  • Demonstrates the ability to listen to others in promoting effective communication.
  • Develops thorough understanding of policies and procedures of the hospital and Demonstrates respect for them.
  • Carries out other duties when requested by the Head of department

Organizational Structure

  • Reports To (Functional): Nursing Manager
  • Level of Authority: In accordance with the approved organizational Structure.
  • Liaises With: (Internal Interaction): All Employees of the Healthcare Units &relevant employees of the Business Group.

(External Interaction): All categories of people Having business/transactional relations with Unit, Bangalore.

Functional Area Responsibility

  • To assist the technician to carryout laboratory work.
  • Handling of wheelchairs and stretchers
  • Receiving the samples and dispatching the reports.
  • Cleaning and Filling of all water jugs in the ward.
  • Processing patient samples for ABG, VBG, GRBS, CARDIAC SOB ,ACT & PT INR on POCT devices.
  • Performs Allen's test, draws arterial blood and perform Arterial Blood Gas and Venous Blood Gas analysis for Patient samples.
  • Monitors and update the critical value reporting documents for all POCT reports. Informing panic value to treating consultants and document the same.
  • In case of Emergency, they are supposed to help housekeeping on the requirement.
  • Ensure cleanliness of work area.
  • Helping and making of Culture media.
  • Cleaning and sterilization of glass wares.
  • All work assigned by ICD.
  • Participation in clinical quality program & patient safety activities

Qualification, License, Education, Experience, Special Skills

  • Ability to work in group across the hospital and as a member of team.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of their work with reference to the obligation to maintain the confidentiality of his / her patients and adhere to bylaws, rules & regulations of the medical organization.

Candidate Requirements

Education: Diploma / Critical care training in Nursing.

Experience: Freshers / candidates with 1 or 2 years of experience

Knowledge & Skills Required: Knowledge of nursing principles, techniques, and procedures for the delivery of effective patient care. Good communication & interpersonal skills. Be proactive, punctual, and empathetic.
