Job summary

JPMorganChase in Bengaluru seeks a Credit Risk Associate in the Middle Markets team within Corporate Banking. You will independently analyze assigned clients, assess macro trends, industry factors, financials and projections, and advise on credit terms and facilities.

You will collaborate with senior officers in North America, manage governance and data quality, and mentor junior team members while expanding knowledge across sectors.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of experience in corporate credit risk analysis.
• Postgraduate degree.
• Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment.
• Strong communication & interpersonal skills; ability to effectively present analysis and build positive relationships with global stakeholders.
• In‑depth understanding of financial statements, including ratio analysis, cash‑flow analysis and accounting standards.
• Excellent academic record, strong grasp of corporate finance concepts and application, close attention to detail and accuracy.
• Aptitude to learn and develop knowledge on credit analysis techniques, sectors and global economies.
• Proficient in the use of MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint.

Responsibilities

• Independently manage own client portfolio – prepare credit analysis on assigned clients covering macro overview, industry/sector, business, financials, projections modelling, and recommend changes to credit ratings and amendments to facilities.
• Assist in negotiating credit terms with senior credit officers and take lead in finalising documentation (credit agreements and amendments).
• Support due diligence on capital-market transactions for clients.
• Work closely with Approvers/Senior Credit Officers in North America on new-to-bank client activities such as evaluating prospects, onboarding new clients and new facilities, actively provide recommendations on deal structuring.
• Build strong relationships and maintain open communication with colleagues from various Lines of Business including Credit Officers, Bankers, Middle Office, etc.
• Engage junior team members in deals for support and review their work.
• Develop strong working knowledge and track clients/sectors related to diversified industries on an ongoing basis.
• Ensure governance, reporting and data quality requirements are met and maintained for client and client families.
• Actively support ED/VPs in driving projects at LoB level – trainings, internship, recruitment, etc.
