Credit Officer

Job Purpose: Implement risk management processes at the ground level for the construction finance business, gaining a thorough understanding of the project and developer and preparing a credit memo to assess the project viability and proposal structure as per ABHFL risk parameters and customer requirements. Key activities are analysis of project viability, assessment of market information and developer financials.

Key Responsibilities

• Analyze project viability, assess market information and developer financials for credit decisions.
• Prepare credit memos and ensure compliance with ABHFL risk parameters, RBI regulations, and statutory norms.
• Maintain stipulated TAT in credit appraisal and coordinate with sales, RMG and other stakeholders for faster decisions.
• Monitor economic and sectoral changes, provide market intelligence, and suggest improvements to product, policy and processes.
• Generate MIS and early warning signals, and monitor portfolio risk and compliance.
• Coordinate cross‑functionally to enable timely approval of credit proposals.
• Improve turnaround times (TAT) and support new product development.
• Manage vendor relationships (field investigations, lawyers, technical valuers, fraud containment) and ensure timely delivery.
• Ensure end‑to‑end processes follow SOPs at the local assessment level, contribute to continuous improvement, and support local credit process team training.
• Handle customer escalations and complaints during and post disbursements, coordinating with legal team.
