Job summary

Intertek in Mumbai seeks a Credit Control professional to lead a team and streamline collections, setting up terms, monitoring payments and coordinating with internal stakeholders for timely inflows.

The ideal candidate holds a Commerce degree with MBA/Finance and at least 1 year of experience in banking/NBFC, showing strong numerical, communication and analytical abilities.

Qualifications

• Commerce graduate with MBA/Master's in Finance as preferred.
• Strong numerical and analytical capability is essential.
• Excellent written and spoken communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Design processes for the collections team including account analysis and reporting, outbound calls, dunning letters, and target setting.
• Support Credit Controller on terms and credit to ensure timely payments.
• Meet Operations managers to ensure debts are collected and credit limits are appropriate.
• Handle disputed bills and negotiate to secure payments within terms.
• Perform periodic customer balance reconciliations and address billing queries.

Role & responsibilities:

Credit Control

• Design the process for team to efficiently perform collection job which includes account analysis and reporting, outbound calls, sending dunning letters, setting up and achievement of collection targets for the team, and coordination with other internal and external collection efforts.
• Providing necessary information and support to the Credit Controller w.r.t. setting up of terms and conditions for credit to the customers and ensure customers pay on time.
• Regularly meet Operations managers to ensure all relevant debts are collected well in time and credit limits/periods extended to customers are appropriate
• Handle disputed bills and negotiate to bring payment within the agreed terms
• Perform periodic customer balance reconciliations for his/her portfolio and provide adequate advice on billing queries .

Stakeholder Management

• Chase overdue invoices by telephone, email & letter within agreed timescales. Maintain adequate records of follow-up activities
• Liaison with multi department heads for tracking overdue payments.

Team Management

• Lead and manage team of credit control executives
• Coach and develop team members in terms of personal and professional development.
• Setting up goals for team and assess performance on continuous basis

Commerce graduate - MBA/ masters in finance

Experience:

Should have at least 1+ of experience

Preferably from banking/NBFC industry.
