Job summary

Altacit Global in Chennai is seeking a Legal Associate to provide legal advice and support to clients while ensuring the legal department operates efficiently.

You will draft, review, and revise a wide range of documents, conduct due diligence, perform legal research, and advise on M&A and business transfer agreements. You will also mentor junior associates and ensure compliance with laws and company policies.

Qualifications

• LL.B. from a recognized university with 1-2 years of practice.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
• Strong drafting, legal research, and document preparation skills.
• Excellent writing and verbal communication.

Responsibilities

• Provide legal advice and support to clients and ensure efficient operation of the legal department.
• Draft, review, and revise legal documents with accuracy and precision.
• Conduct due diligence investigations and gather information for client projects.
• Draft, vet, negotiate and advise on various transaction agreements (M&A and business transfers).
• Conduct extensive legal research to support case preparation and guidance on legal matters.
• Draft, vet, and finalize commercial agreements (distribution, licensing, technology assignment, supply, NDA, share pledge, escrow, power of attorney).
• Lead and manage complex legal cases, including court representation.
• Mentor and guide junior legal associates.
• Review contracts to ensure compliance with legal requirements and company policies.

Job description

• The Legal Associate shall be responsible for providing legal advice and support to the firm`s clients and ensuring the efficient operation of the legal department.
• Draft, review, and revise legal documents with accuracy and precision, ensuring adherence to legal requirements and client objectives.
• Conduct due diligence investigations and gather relevant information for client projects.
• Drafting, vetting, negotiating and advising on various types of transaction agreements with respect to M&A and business transfers
• Conducting extensive legal research to support case preparation and provide guidance on legal matters.
• Drafting, vetting, and finalizing various commercial agreement such as, distribution agreements, technology licensing agreements, technology assignment agreements, supply agreements, non-disclosure agreement, share pledge agreement, escrow agreements, power of attorneys, etc
• Lead and manage complex legal cases, including court representation.
• Mentor and guide junior legal associates.
• Reviewing and analyzing contracts to ensure compliance with legal requirements and company policies.
