Amazon Inc. is seeking a Corporate Counsel for Devices - Digital Legal based in Bangalore. The role focuses on counseling the business across legal, commercial, technology, privacy and regulatory matters.

You will support device products like Echo, Kindle and related services, working with global and local teams and outside counsel. The ideal candidate has 7+ years of in-house or law firm experience, strong communication skills, and a proven ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-moving

Responsibilities

• Counsel the business on a broad range of legal, commercial, technology, privacy, compliance and regulatory matters.
• Provide day‑to‑day advice as counsel on strategic initiatives and key deals for devices and digital businesses in India and SE Asia.
• Collaborate with local and global legal teams and outside counsel on matters affecting the business.
• Work from Bangalore with travel as required, supporting cross–functional initiatives.

Corporate Counsel, Devices - Digital Legal

Key job responsibilities

• You will serve as a lawyer responsible for counseling the business on a broad range of legal, commercial, technology, privacy, compliance and regulatory matters. You will work directly with the business, providing day-to-day advice in a wide range of legal areas serving as counsel on strategic initiatives and key deals, helping evaluate and launch new and innovative products.
• You will be part of the legal team that supports Amazon's devices and digital businesses in India and a few Southeast Asian countries.
• Throughout all the above tasks, you will closely work with local and global legal teams and outside counsel.
• The position will be based in Bangalore. Some travel, domestic and international, will be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Law
• 7+ years of Inhouse legal or law firm experience
• Experience communicating clearly and concisely with leadership, stakeholders, and cross-functional teams
• Experience prioritizing and delivering projects on time in a fast-moving environment
• Legal experience (across a leading global law firm and/or in-house at a major multinational corporation), preferably with some portion of that experience in technology and commercial transactions.
• The successful candidate must be proactive, enthusiastic, able to operate with high degree of independence, enjoy working hard, being challenged, able to think outside the box and demonstrate sound judgment even in ambiguous situations.
• A team player and consensus builder with great people skills who can effectively and efficiently collaborate and build relationships with attorneys and business clients at all levels throughout the organization.
• Experience managing multiple projects and priorities across teams in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
• Ability to work independently while being able to contribute successfully to cross-functional teams.
