Job summary

EY is seeking a Senior EY GDS FAAS (Controllership Transformation) specialist to drive R2R transformation initiatives and lead delivery across key R2R areas in a global client context.

You will design consolidation processes, enable ERP integrations with AI use cases, and guide cross-functional teams to deliver value. Strong EY culture and client‑focused delivery are essential.

Qualifications

• CA/MBA (Finance) with commerce background and related certifications.
• 2–4 years of relevant consulting experience in record to report transformation.
• Experience with multinational clients and Big4 firms is preferred.
• Experience with SAP S/4HANA FI/CO/COPA, Oracle Fusion Finance and netsuite is desirable.
• Familiarity with AI/ML/GenAI and analytics in finance is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Lead transformation across R2R, including end‑to‑end process improvements.
• Own and guide R2R process areas like revenue recognition, accruals, intercompany
• Design integration of ERP platforms with AI-based solutions in SAP environments
• Define consolidation data structures and mapping between COA and Group COA/FS
• Lead delivery teams and ensure timely, high‑quality outcomes

EY GDS FAAS (Controllership Transformation) - Senior position

The opportunity

Financial Accounting Advisory Services (FAAS) professionals provide advisory services including Accounting and regulatory support for accounting change and special matters; accounting processes and controls support.

Within EY FAAS practice, the Finance Transformation Experts team build and develop client relationship with our regional stakeholders. We are part of an integrated global network of professionals who develop, design and optimise client service business processes for efficiency and high performance. We leverage and improve various frameworks, methodologies, solutions specific to our offerings and articulate presentations that communicate proposals, strategies, plans and outcomes.

Your key responsibilities

Technical Delivery and Subject Matter Expertise -

• Drive transformation initiatives acrossRecord-to-Report (R2R) processes by leveraging deep techno-functional expertise. Lead end-to-end process improvements and strategic interventions, beyond system implementation, acting as a transformation lead (not PMO).
• Own and lead transformation across key R2R process areas, including:
• Revenue Recognition
• Accruals
• Intercompany Reconciliation
• Manual Journal Entries and Automation
• Asset Accounting
• Chart of Accounts & Accounting Master Data
• Account Reconciliation (e.g., Cash & Bank, Sales)
• Subledger Accounting
• Consolidation
• Financial Statement Preparation and Filing
• Notes and Disclosures
• Cost Accounting & Inventory
• Profitability Analysis
• Provide subject matter expertise and lead delivery teams in R2R transformation and implementation programs, ensuring alignment with business objectives and regulatory requirements.
• Support the design and integration ofERP platforms with AI-based solutions, including defining and implementing AI use cases within R2R processes (especially within SAP-based environments).
• Driveconsolidation process design and execution, including:
• Defining consolidation data structures
• Managing mapping between operational COA and Group COA / FS items
• Ensuring effective use of tools such as SAP Group Reporting, SAP BPC, Oracle FCCS
• Lead the workstreams or delivery teams within large transformation programs, ensuring timely delivery, quality outcomes, and stakeholder alignment.
• Define and implementAI-driven solutions and automation opportunities in R2R processes, evaluating available tools and driving their practical application in enterprise environments.
• Responsible for decision‑making, optimizing processes, resource management, and overseeing team management as needed for task execution.
• Accountable for allocating personnel, supervising team members, assigning tasks, ensuring that the team has the necessary tools and support to succeed in their roles and optimizing and evaluating their performance to meet organizational goals.

Business Development & Solution Development -

• Lead pursuit teams to understand client problem statements & formulate that in solutions
• Lead developing client specific solutions for the engagement team
• Lead proposal development or lead proposal teams
• Lead collaboration with market teams to develop relationship and drive business growth for EY
• Collaborate cross service lines to ensure smooth execution of the project.
• Lead development of internal capability development and lead training sessions to coach internal teams to develop capability
• Lead operational initiatives within the practice areas.

Skills and attributes for success

Subject Matter and Technical Skills -

• Deep knowledge in Record to report, invoice to pay and Order to cash areas
• Certification and/or sound experience based knowledge in ERPs like SAP S/4 HANA FI/CO/COPA, SAP Central Finance, Oracle Fusion Finance, Oracle Netsuite
• Certification and/or sound experience based knowledge in digital finance solutions like Blackline, Trintech, High Radius, Different RPA solutions
• Knowledge about AI/ML/Gen-AI & Analytics solution in finance space particularly in Record to Report areas.
• Knowledge of consolidation, reporting, inter-company and ERP data structures
• Have experience in current state analysis (As is), future state analysis (To be), process optimization, data optimization, data analytics, data management

To qualify for the role, you must have

• CA, MBA (Finance) with Commerce Background, CWA, CMA, CFA, M.Com
• 2-4 Years of relevant consulting experience in record to report transformation (not Industry user experience)
• Experience of working with international clients preferred
• Experience with previous multinational consulting firms or Big4 firms
