The role calls for 20–25 years of experience in construction contracts, strong leadership, and formal training in contracts or construction law. You will guide project teams, ensure compliance, and protect project value.

Qualifications

• 20–25 years of experience in contracts administration, billing, commercial management, and project controls within thermal power, EPC/EPCM, infrastructure, energy, or industrial projects.

Responsibilities

• Lead EPCM project contract administration from award to closeout.
• Interpret and manage contractual terms, obligations, liabilities, and commercial provisions.
• Develop strategies for management of contractual risks, opportunities, claims, and disputes.
• Oversee contract compliance by clients, contractors, vendors, consultants, and stakeholders.
• Manage change orders, variation claims, EOT requests, escalation claims and notices.
• Review and negotiate commercial and contractual matters with clients and external parties.
• Support dispute avoidance and resolution through proactive contract administration.
• Maintain robust contract records, notices, registers, and audit trails.
• Advise leadership on contractual risks and mitigation measures.

Purpose & Scope of Position

The Contracts Specialist is responsible for managing the contractual aspects of engineering projects, ensuring compliance with all terms and conditions, and facilitating smooth project execution. This role involves drafting, negotiating, and administering contracts while working closely with project teams, clients, and suppliers. The incumbent leads a team of contract specialists and has vital responsibilities in carrying a project to an on‑time, on‑budget completion. He/She is the owner of the entire contracting process, both pre and post award activities. The responsibilities include negotiating the terms and conditions in contracts and ensuring compliance with the terms and conditions, including documenting and agreeing on any changes that may arise during its implementation or execution. The role involves systematically and efficiently managing contract formation, execution/administration, and analysis for the purpose of maximizing financial, scope and schedule related performance and minimizing risk.

Experience

• 20–25 years of experience in contracts administration, billing, commercial management, and project controls within thermal power, EPC/EPCM, infrastructure, energy, or industrial projects.

Qualification

Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Civil, Electrical, or related discipline) and Additional qualification in Contracts Management, Commercial Management, Construction Law, Project Management, or MBA will be an added advantage

• Review and negotiate commercial and contractual matters with clients, contractors, and external stakeholders.
• Support dispute avoidance and resolution through proactive contract administration and commercial interventions.
• Ensure robust maintenance of contract records, notices, registers, commercial documentation, and audit trails.
• Advise project leadership on contractual risks and recommend mitigation measures..
