Content Author
Job Description

The Content Author is an entry point into the content team's career path, combining hands‑on content authorship with full ownership of the content production process. This role analyzes source material from multiple resources and writes, edits, and updates clear, accurate, customer‑facing content, while also performing the technical production tasks — coding, copyreading, merging, rendering, loading, and validating — needed to move that content through the team's systems and into publication. The Content Author works under the guidance of more senior team members while building independent proficiency in the team's content, processes, and systems, with the goal of taking on progressively broader responsibility over time. Specific product knowledge is not required at entry; the role is designed around generalizable content and systems skills that apply across the team's product portfolio.

Key Responsibilities
  • Read source material from multiple places and write, edit, and update content so it's clear and correct, with guidance from senior team members.
  • Handle the full content production process in Adobe Experience Manager (AEM): coding, copyreading, editing, merging, DITA formatting, and checking content.
  • Turn confusing, incomplete, or mixed‑up source material into clear, well‑organized content for customers.
  • Take ownership of your own content's accuracy and completeness; work independently on familiar tasks and ask for help on harder ones.
  • Spot routine content problems, fix what you can, and know when to ask for help on anything unclear.
  • Meet deadlines by managing your own workload and working well with teammates.
  • Help test and review content to make sure it works and reads well across different formats.
  • Suggest small process improvements when you spot them.
  • Leverage strong product knowledge to enhance our workflow and content, for strategic products.
  • Learn the team's content, systems, and tools, and pick up general product knowledge over time.
Required Qualifications
  • Process‑oriented: comfortable following and improving structured, multi‑step content workflows.
  • Attention to detail: consistently accurate, complete, and quality‑checked work.
  • Strong writing skills: clear, well‑organized, professional writing across content types.
  • Strong sense of voice: able to write and edit in a consistent, appropriate tone and style.
  • Ability to deal with ambiguity: works effectively from incomplete, conflicting, or multi‑source information and knows when to ask for help on anything unclear.
  • General product knowledge: comfortable learning new product context quickly; deep expertise in any single product is not required at entry.
  • Works successfully in a team environment and understands team member roles.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Exposure to AI‑assisted content tools or workflows.
  • Familiarity with knowledge maps or other structured‑content models.
  • Basic content or data analytics skills.
  • Experience with DITA or other structured‑authoring frameworks.
  • Experience working in a component content management system (CCMS).
  • Broader content creation experience (e.g., digital, consumer‑facing, or SEO‑oriented content).
  • Strong product knowledge in a strategic product area.
