Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) is a strategic growth area for Oracle, offering comprehensive cloud services in IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS. OCI aims to meet the needs of customers tackling some of the world’s biggest challenges.

About the Network Monitoring (NM) team:

Networking is a mission-critical part of OCI. Our team focuses on building cloud monitoring solutions that provide performance monitoring, root cause analysis, prediction, and capacity planning for Oracle’s global cloud network infrastructure.

Responsibilities:

We seek a Consulting Member of Technical Staff for the OCI Network Monitoring team with expertise in solving complex problems in distributed systems, building cloud-native network monitoring and analytics solutions, and improving operational posture. You should be skilled in building systems involving large data handling, metrics collection, data pipelines, and analytics for real-time, online, and batch processing.

Qualifications:

• BS/MS or equivalent in CS or relevant field
• 15+ years in software development
• 5+ years developing large-scale distributed services/applications
• Proficiency in Java/Python/C++ and object-oriented programming
• Knowledge of networking protocols such as TCP/IP, Ethernet, BGP, OSPF
• Experience with networking management technologies like SNMP, Netflow, gNMI
• Strong understanding of data structures and algorithms
• Excellent communication skills
• Knowledge of cloud computing and networking technologies
• Operational experience with large networks
• Experience with service-oriented systems and distributed compute platforms like Hadoop, Spark, Kafka
• Experience developing automated test suites
• Familiarity with tools like Jira, Confluence, BitBucket
• Knowledge of Scrum & Agile methodologies
