Job summary

Cisco is seeking a Data Center Senior Consulting Engineer to deliver expert guidance and hands-on delivery for top global customers. You will design and implement cutting-edge Cisco technologies for large, complex networks and act as a strategic partner to customers.

The role requires deep expertise in Data Center tech, Nexus platforms, ACI, and automation with NDFC, along with strong English communication to influence cross‑functional teams worldwide.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree (BS/BE/BTech) or equivalent required; Master’s degree preferred; 10+ years of experience in field consulting, technical support services, or a similar role.
• Customer-obsessed problem solver who thrives in team environments.
• Technical Expertise: Data Center technologies (SDN, SAN, Compute) and Cisco Nexus platforms (2K/5K/7K/9K), including Nexus Standalone and ACI.
• Networking Proficiency: Deep experience with L2/L3 protocols (vPC, Port Channels, STP, OSPF, BGP, EIGRP), VXLAN, and Nexus Dashboard.
• Fabric Management: ACI fabric lifecycle management (bring-up, programmability, QoS, Multicast) and ACI Multi-Pod/Multi-Site architectures.
• Automation: Proficient in NDFC and automating manual processes.
• Communication: Strong English communication skills and ability to influence across organizations.

• Provide feedback to Engineering/Product teams to influence future roadmaps.
• Innovate within service strategy to create new service capabilities and lead delivery models.

Your Impact

As a Data Center Senior Consulting Engineer, You Will Provide Expert-level Technical Guidance And Delivery For Our Most High-profile Global Customers. You Will

• Design and implement cutting-edge Cisco technologies for the world’s largest and most complex networks.

• Provide critical feedback to Engineering and Product organizations to influence future product roadmaps.
• Innovate within our service strategy to create new service capabilities and lead service delivery models.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree (BS/BE/BTech) or equivalent required; Master’s degree preferred, with 10+ years of experience in field consulting, technical support services, or a similar role.

• Technical Expertise: You possess comprehensive knowledge of Data Center technologies (SDN, SAN, Compute) and Cisco Nexus platforms (2K/5K/7K/9K), including Nexus Standalone and ACI.
• Networking Proficiency: You have deep experience with L2/L3 protocols (vPC, Port Channels, STP, OSPF, BGP, EIGRP), VXLAN, and Nexus Dashboard.
• Fabric Management: You demonstrate advanced knowledge of ACI fabric lifecycle management (bring-up, programmability, QoS, Multicast) and ACI Multi-Pod/Multi-Site architectures.
• Automation: You are proficient in NDFC (Nexus Dashboard Fabric Controller) and enjoy applying new thinking to automate manual processes.
• Communication: You have strong verbal and written English communication skills, with the ability to influence and work effectively across internal and external organizations.

Preferred Qualifications

• CCIE (Data Center/Routing & Switching) or CCNP certification is highly valued.
• Experience or knowledge of virtualization, container technologies such as Kubernetes, AWS, or VMware VCP is a plus.
