- Diagnosis:Evaluate patients with neurological symptoms, order/interpret scans (MRI, CT), diagnose conditions.
- Treatment Planning:Develop comprehensive plans, often combining surgical (tumor removal, aneurysm clipping, spinal fusion) and non-surgical (medication, injections, therapy) approaches.
- Surgery:Perform complex operations on the brain, spine, and peripheral nerves, often using microsurgery or robotics.
- Patient Care:Consult with patients/families, manage pain, prescribe medications, and provide intensive post-operative monitoring.
- Collaboration:Work with neurologists, radiologists, oncologists, and therapists.
- Documentation:Maintain detailed records of patient history, treatments, and outcomes.
- Emergency Response:Handle acute neurological emergencies like strokes or traumatic brain injuries.
